I came here with a friend for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t busy at all. As soon as I walked into the establishment I noticed that almost every table was dirty and needed to be wiped clean. It was also very hot inside this establishment. I ordered the Masitas Platter and my friend ordered 3 Sandwiches de Pernil (pork.) After waiting for about 35 minutes, my friend got up to ask about the order. There were 2 young girls standing near the door of the kitchen area. They noticed my friend standing there at the counter but turned their heads and continued with their conversation. Finally an older lady came out of the kitchen and asked my friend what was her name for the order. She quickly found the order and gave it to my friend. It took about 40 minutes to receive our food. I was given a Beefsteak Platter instead of the Macitas Platter that I had ordered. I looked at the receipt and the girl rung it up wrong. At this point I proceeded to eat my food because I didn’t want to wait another 40 minutes. The rice and beans were good but the beefsteak I almost had to pick up with my hands in order to be able to eat it. The side salad looked like it came straight out of a Publix or Walmart salad bag that you’d find in the produce section with zero dressing, nada. I couldn’t finish my plate. I walked back up to the counter to order a cheese and guava danish and a Coco Rico to go. The young girl with the glasses noticed I was standing there but she continued doing inventory on the drink lids. Not even an acknowledgement or an “I’ll be with you shortly.” One of the kitchen employees came out and he told her in Spanish “you have a customer standing there” to which she looked at him un phased and continued with her inventory. Finally the young man asked me in Spanish “have you been helped?” And I responded no. He then proceeds to tell her “you have a Customer at the counter.” She gave him the dirtiest look to which I responded “she’s on break.” This young ladies’ Customer Service and Hospitality skills are lacking. I feel bad for the owners that have an employee such as her representing their brand. I won’t be back to this establishment and I definitely will not be...
Read moreI visited the Clermont location for the first time yesterday and ordered guava and cheese pastries. As soon as I took the first bite I noticed a funny flavor. It didn’t taste as expected. As I continue to eat it, I felt goosebumps and it tasted really bad. I decided to open the pastry and to my surprise it was covered in mold! When I bring it to the attention of the employee and show her the mold, she had the audacity to tell me the pastries were baked that same morning. How could she justify that fresh baked pastries had mold in it. She refused to give us a refund and gave us no other option but to replace the pastries. She also said she could not call the manager as no one there had the authority for a refund. We paid $9.16 plus tax for 4 old guava&cheese pastelillos! This location cannot compare to other Taino Bakery locations we have been before. In addition to selling old food, it was dirty, the women’s restroom was flooded, and the employee was not trained adequately to handle this situation. Definitely do not recommend and will not be...
Read moreMy family and I were so excited to see that a Taino’s was opening near us since we liked the Lake Underhill location but after trying this location three times we are no longer eating here. The Pan Sobao tastes old every single time and isn’t soft like how it should be. The Avena and Harina de Maíz are both WAY too sweet. One time I ordered a Mazorca sandwich for breakfast and it had a hair in it. The service isn’t good, even when you online order for pickup as they take forever to even greet you when you come in. I’ve given them grace since it seems they’re always severely understaffed and stressed but it’s not a pleasant experience as a customer to not be greeted and then also be rushed when ordering food every single time. Really don’t like having to write this review for a fellow Puertorican owned business but I really don’t understand the lack of quality and service in this location versus the other...
