We rented what is described as a â14 Bed Luxurious Mansion Homeâ, located at 6117 N Broad Oak Dr. in Davenport. Complete disappointment! These are the facts: 1.) The upstairs seating area was to have an air hockey table, bowling, tabletop arcade system and space invaders arcade game. The air hockey game had holes punched in it, the balls and pins were missing, and the tabletop arcade system would not come on. 2.) There was a movie theater room however the projector would only stream cable or a Blu-ray/DVD (no Blu-rays/DVDs were there for use). 3.) The projector outside in the pool area was not usable because there was no remote. 4.) The âgame roomâ did have a pool table and foosball table however the kids could not play in there because after one of them got bit we realized the room was infested with ants. 5.) I emailed the office the night after we arrived, 10:58 pm 10/5/19, to request that they send pest control out because after returning from Disney we found that my grandsonsâ suitcase was infested with ants and a relative had gotten bit by ants in the game room. The next morning my cousinâs suitcase upstairs was infested with ants. Denise called me at 8:13 am and said she would send someone out that day to spray. They did NOT spray the entire house because there were still ants in the game room. 6.) I asked Denise about the air hockey game, bowling game, and projector downstairs and that is when she told me that a previous tenant had damaged the air hockey game and stolen the bowling pins and balls and remote for the projector. 7.) On Tuesday the 8th at 6:51 pm, after spending almost 2 hours trying to figure out the projector system in the movie theater room, I emailed the office asking for instructions on the operation of the projector. There was an Apple TV box but no remote, we couldnât get anything but cable. 8.) On Wednesday the 9th, while I was at the community pool with the kids, someone came for the movie room projector and said that the system was not hooked up to the internet so we would have to rent Blu-rays/DVDs if we wanted to watch something other than cable. Someone else came over to look at the tabletop arcade system and provided us with a new one that worked. We then asked him about the projector, he called someone else who spoke with my cousin. He told us that sometimes a homeowner will skimp on items and that the Blu-ray/DVD player and projector were not WiFi enabled. He said the Apple TV box must belong to a previous tenant that forgot it because it is not something that is normal in the homes. He told us to call the office to request a Roku stick for the projector so that we could stream movies that way. Why did the person that came that morning not offer that to us? 9.) On Friday morning the 11th, via the on-site tablet provided by the management company, I requested a late check out for the next day at 12:00. The information on the tablet said that I would receive an approval or denial via email. After submitting the request I got a text telling me there was an international charge of $139 on my credit card for the late check out. After checking my email and not receiving an approval or denial for the request, I sent a âchatâ request via the same tablet inquiring whether the late check out had been approved. Approximately 40 minutes later at 9:34 am, I received a call from someone at the office stating that they did not receive a request for late check out the day before and that we had to check out by 10:00 am. I told him that I had a temporary hold on my card for the request so they had to have received the request and he said that they never received it and that I wouldnât be charged. Clearly a lie. I spent over $7,000 for an 8-day rental of a âLuxurious Mansion Homeâ that was infested with ants, had broken amenities, had missing amenities, had amenities that were unable to be used and was not informed about any of this prior to our arrival. The kids were only able to swim and play space invaders. Completely unacceptable. Extremely...
Read moreWe recently stayed at a vacation home managed by Vacasa, and while the property itself was absolutely stunningâspacious, beautifully decorated, and located in a fantastic areaâunfortunately, our stay was marred by a significant issue with the hot water.
From the start, we were excited about the getaway, especially since we were a group of eight moms who had never met before, eager to enjoy a relaxing weekend together. The house had everything we were looking forâcharming character, cozy spaces, and a great layout that seemed perfect for our group. However, upon arrival, we quickly discovered that the hot water wasn't working.
We reached out to the host immediately, and they were very responsive and genuinely concerned about the situation. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the issue was not resolved during our entire stay. For a group of moms looking to unwind, not being able to take warm showers or wash up properly was incredibly frustrating. It really put a damper on what could have been a lovely experience, especially since we were there for the weekend to relax and enjoy some self-care.
Now, hereâs where the situation really souredâVacasaâs customer service was dreadful. We were told we were supposed to be contact days before arriving. Not only did we not receive timely updates about the hot water issue, but when they offered to move us to different properties, they were far from an ideal solution. We had already unpacked all our belongings and groceries, and the alternative homes they suggested were nowhere near comparable to the house we had rented. The other properties had fewer rooms, and certainly werenât as nice as the home weâd originally booked.
Adding to the frustration, there was no consistent point of contactâevery time we called or texted, we were speaking to a different representative, and we had to explain our situation from scratch over and over again. This lack of continuity was incredibly frustrating and only added to the stress of the situation.
To Vacasaâs credit, they did offer a partial refund for two of the three nights, but honestly, we felt this wasnât enough given the circumstances. We had paid for a home with basic amenities, and being without hot water for our entire stay was unacceptable. In our opinion, a full refund for the entire stay would have been more appropriate, considering the significant inconvenience. We are waiting on a resolution.
Itâs a shame because the property itself has so much potential. The host was wonderful, and I believe this could have been a great experience under different circumstances. However, the lack of proper communication and inadequate customer service from Vacasa made what should have been a relaxing retreat into a stressful and uncomfortable situation.
Until the hot water issue is resolved, and until Vacasa improves its customer service, I canât recommend booking with them. While the home itself is beautiful, the overall experience left much...
Read moreTerrible property management company! I will never stay at any of their locations again. I feel sorry for the actual owner of the home because currently they have an active leak in their home. As I type this review I have three pans sitting on their kitchen floor catching the water from the active leak from the second level of the home. Since we arrived on the property it has been one thing after another.. too much to get into the details about how the property manger handled each item so I will just list everything.
We show up and the access door code to the carriage house is incorrect. It takes over an hour to get the correct code from the manager.
There are multiple wasp/yellow jacket nests all over the property. I mentioned it to her and she stated she will have maintenance take care of them. They are still here and we checked in two days ago.
Once we finally get access to the carriage house. We discover the AC is not working and it is 90+ degrees in there. After several attempts of trying to contact Heather, she states she will dispatch an AC vendor. They show up after 10pm in the evening and it takes them 1 1/2 hrs to correct (clogged drain line). They dismiss the inconvenience this has caused us because apparently this is the common problem when an AC vendor is dispatched.
All is still well not going to let this get the best of me. âStuff Happensâ. The very next morning I throw on a load to wash and as I step Out- I discover the laundry room floor is wet and water is leaking into the main hallway carpet. I immediately assume the washer is leaking and turn it off. I report the issue and after the third tech for this one issue comes out he discovers there is a drain under the washer machine that is overflowing. He insists there is nothing wrong with the washer and thinks heâs doing me a solid by starting my load again and notifies management they need to send a plumber on site to address the drain being clogged. After he leaves, the ceiling on the first level begins to leak very bad. So there you go.. Iâm listening to water drip in their kitchen pots as I waste 20 minutes typing this exhausting review.
Oh yeah cable went out after the second tech showed up looking at the washer. Not sure why or how that happened.
**my Wife and daughter have severe mold allergies and their eyes have been itching since they arrrived. All my toddlers have had runny noses due to the mold and my 1 year old canât walk around because there is water all over the 1st level tile floor from the leak.
We reported all these items to Heather and Nick and their response has been â we need to get with our team to discuss and weâll get...
