My family and I decided to give this place a shot before our flight as it was the only restaurant in Ft Lauderdale airport with a google rating above 3.0, yikes! I believe it was a 3.3 this week, when we ate there. We were happy to find beers, self checkout, and a friendly employee. We all ordered the double wagyu burger, 3 of us ordered no cheese (not I). The restaurant needed to be cleaned, but no big deal. Food comes out, every burger has cheese on it. Still not a big deal for our group. Now as you can see, I don't write reviews often, but I simply can not let you eat this burger. I love burgers. Eat em all the time. I truly can not remember a burger in my life that was this bad. These "wagyu" patties were petrified hockey pucks. Flavorless. Nearly impossible to break down with your teeth. None of us ate more than half our burger, and all of us felt self-conscious about eating as much as we did. But we had a long flight ahead of us, so I suppose that is why we put our lives on the line, that fateful day. Happy to report that none of us have suffered any significant health issues since we grinded it out in there. I've never had a Burgerfi burger before this one, but there's no way what I had is their standard, and I urge corporate to get in there tomorrow to see what the F is going on. You can't continue to brand the tops of those burger buns with your good name if what lies beneath is at best,...
Read moreI understand that this is a burger restaurant in an airport, so high prices for standard food and less than stellar service is to be expected. What I didn't expect was to pay $23 for a single meal. Nor did I expect to wait 30 minutes for it to be made.
I ordered an Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger, small order of onion rings, and a soda. While waiting 30 minutes for my food, I noted there were 6 employees in the kitchen. One cooking burgers, one sweeping, and 4 just standing around. At the counter there were 2 employees and one manager working a single cash register. I was one of 10 people waiting for food, as order after order was placed on the line, and no one acknowledged them. There was no communication between the kitchen and counter, and nobody could be bothered to turn around to see if more food was waiting for pickup. When the customers were eventually called up, they came back minutes later complaining of cold food.
As far as the food is concerned, the burger was a burger. There was nothing ultimate about it. It was definitely warm at some point, but I've honestly had better burgers from McDonald's. The onion rings however were quite good and it was very evident they came right from the fryer. They were crispy and hot and I would have forgone the burger and gotten 3 or 4 orders of the onion...
Read moreI would first like to say I am a server in the food industry so I am very understanding that mistakes are made. However, I was extremely unhappy with how the cashier handled my food allergy. I approached the counter to order food and the cashier immediately seemed bothered as if she didn’t want to be there. Further more, I have a sesame seed and sesame oil allergy (understandably an uncommon allergy and may be challenging to accommodate), I asked the cashier if they used any kind of sesame seeds or oil in their burgers. The cashier rolled her eyes and replied “no we don’t”. With having trust in the employee I ordered a burger. As soon as I swallowed the first bite my throat started to swell up and I began to have an allergic reaction. Confused, I looked up BurgerFi’s allergen information and to my surprise the burgers “may contain sesame seeds”. BurgerFi claims to use “Martin Hamburger Buns” which contain sesame seeds. My whole day was ruined because I had such a severe allergic reaction. I wish the cashier would have asked a manager or looked a little further into it instead of appearing bothered by my allergy and gave me an unsure answer. BurgerFi should better train their employees on how to handle food allergies, especially considering sesame seeds are a listed allergen on...
