Back in September 2021 I gave this place a 5 star review and gleefully declared "not sure why there's a lot of negative reviews, maybe people are coming in with not enough time on their connecting flight". Now, I must eat my own words.
Coming off of a 9:00am arrival and same day departing flight, I decided to use my Priority Pass to get some food a little early. The waitress at the counter was among the rudest I have ever encountered.
Still, the place stays packed. Menu is petit and they are fully aware they operate a Priority Pass restaurant in pricing and commodities. However the food is sufficient for the venue and the portion size. As flights bump up to full capacity, I've noticed that this restaurant's size has, too. It's even bringing in burgers (or some sort of food) from the Burger King next door. Seriously, if you're in line look out for it because it looked like a lot of patties.
I watched a woman in her 60s, with basic English, die on the inside, from having to wait 20 minutes for food. One of the wait staff was so cold hearted and confronted her for standing in the aisle, asking for help from an expeditor that didn't appear to exist at this location. It was at this point one of the managers asked her "Why are you standing here? You can't stand here, sit down." It looked like an awful ordeal.
The waitress who actually served me was a much kinder, young woman. The jerk chicken sandwich was good, except a little undercooked on the rear side of the sandwich. Orange juice was bottled Tropicana. Finally finished down with some Sonic-style crushed ice.
Island juices are currently unavailable, but if you are here check back to see if they are. When I went in September, the 1/2 jerk chicken was great too, with delicious sauce and baked fries.
The restaurant could use an expeditor, particularly because it is an airport restaurant. At the same time some more care to ensure food isn't cold. To the excellent wait staff with the glasses (you know who you are!) I hope you keep up the good work, and I hope more of the staff are as nice as you were to me as a customer. I hope the staff could be trained to be a little kinder or explain more kindly why the food takes time.
Note Amex Priority Pass cards don't work at ANY restaurant. They haven't...
Read moreIf I could give this place -5 I would. Both waitresses who served today around 5-:15pm were horrible. I understand that it's not the most exciting job or how high paying but pride in or some care at all would be nice. After waiting behind a frustrated group who was being ignored by the staff, I made my way to the bar. The both bartenders were busy chatting with each other while customers who were there before me were waiting to be cashed out while being ignored. One customer waited for his card while the bartender chatted with another customer. It was only once he began to leave did she cash him out. I had to waive to get the bartender's attention as both of them walked by me several times, looked at me and kept going. Once I finally placed an order I was asked for my id and then she walked away. I got her attention when she came back and asked her if she could cash me out so I would not miss my flight. She asked for what and I reiterated my order. She took my card hostage and began socializing with customers who already had drinks. I told her again I had to catch a flight and she began joking about charging without pouring the drink. I then asked for the price, so I could pay in cash and she said she didn't know, I asked the other bartender and she answered rudely that the other was getting the price. It is hard to imagine that bartenders in an airport don't understand their customers are on a time crunch. I paid $35 for a ginger ale and 2 shots of Tito's +...

My server more or less ignored my table and dodged around for 30 minutes giving the bill. I was stuck there for 60+ minutes total. Even the bartender was giving me looks since I was waving around for someone to give me the bill so I could catch my flight. I asked 2 other waitresses for the bill and they said my server (the male there) was going to come around with it.
Another 30 minutes he finally came by and gave me the bill which was fully covered by priority pass, but had the optional 18% tip charged on. He went up to the front of the restaurant and openly and loudly asked me where his tip was. People at the bar all turned to see what was going on.
At that point he went way too far, so I told our audience that poor service, ignoring your fully finished table for 30+ minutes, and use of embarrassing coersion warrants no optional gratuity.
Had this been a normal restaurant encounter, 10-20% tip would be fine. But this guy was just crazy.
The burger was pretty good with a generous portion size. The pineapple juice was also nice. But the service totally overshadowed everything else.
Next time I'm in this airport, I'll consider Shake Shake (which was pleasant with comparable food) instead of dealing with this horrendous Priority Pass restaurant.
I do not recommend dining here. But if you're using priority pass, it's still worth it. Just go in expecting bad and...
