Last night I came to this location because it was close to the movie theater I had bought tickets for. Great location, there’s everything to do nearby. However, it was not super busy, because the holidays was over and when I was seated, I didn’t get greeted by a server until 5-10 minutes later. When I was finally greeted she asked what did I want to drink and while looking over the menu, she started calling out the options almost like she was trying to rush me. I ordered a strawberry lemonade and then she asked about appetizers, I told her I’m okay because I’m going to see a movie right afterwards and don’t want to order too much. Instead of appetizers I tell her I’m ready to order and I order the steak and ribs combo with the broccoli and cheese casserole and the red beans and rice. She leaves and brings back my drink, but in past when I have visited Cheddars, they usually give you a complementary honey butter croissant. Which is what I look forward to every time I come to cheddars. Before I can even ask she places my drink down and she walks off again. I noticed she sat another party next to me, two older guys. She starts taking their orders and brings out the croissant for them. At this point I’m still waiting on my food. About 20-30 minutes later and I’m pretty much done with my drink, I finally get my food and had to ask about the croissant, she finally runs and go to get it and it was hard as a rock. I start to eat and the red beans and rice is salty, the ribs are tough, and the it’s tastes almost like my food was done for a while and just sitting under a heat lamp. I didn’t mention it because it would take longer to remake it and I had a movie to get to. So I only finished the steak and the broccoli casserole. Not once did the waitresses come by and provide a refill, until I had already paid and was gathering myself to go. By which when I paid, and there’s a survey at the end, I was answering the questions honestly until I realized she was standing behind me watching. Which made me extremely uncomfortable. I canceled the survey and she came right around and took something what looked like a battery out of the kiosk and slammed the device face down on the table. The entire time I considered she might be exhausted and overworked because of the holidays but that last act is what upset me. I wasn’t planning on saying anything at all. But she was not very attentive throughout my visit, and seem more so annoyed. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience at Cheddar’s until last night. Sweetheart I don’t remember your name, but I hope you get some rest, and next time have a better attitude in the presence of the guests. I won’t be back for while I...
Read moreCheddar's always seems to nail it when it comes to the food, and this Orlando location was no exception as we have no complaints about the food. The service, however was pitiful. We visited Cheddars yesterday as my wife chose this restaurant to celebrate her birthday and upon arrival there were no other parties waiting and the hostess (who was not the hostess but a server walking by), told us we would have to wait 15 minutes for a booth, even though we could see several booths open and available. She tried to convince us to sit at a "hi-top" table but with small children we declined needing a booth - she seemed put off that we declined her suggestion, never being even remotely courteous. We sat to wait, she disappeared and then came party after party who were seated by the actual hostess, several even seated in the booth we initially sought. After realizing what was going on, we said something to the hostess who promptly seated us but offered no apologies for our unnecessary wait, our waitress also witnessed this. After ordering we were brought the free croissants that come with the meal but had no silverware nor napkins. We asked our waitress for both and it took her more than 10 minutes ( she walked by several times continuing to forget our request). We had to ask a second time to get silverware and napkins as we sat with sticky croissant butter on our fingers. Then shortly after our kids meals were brought out - we still had no silverware and my kids food became cold as we continued waiting for silverware Then it took more than 15 minutes after this to receive our meal and our kids were completely finished eating. By now, we had enough of this pathetic service and paid with the kiosk at the table and left. Working in the retail/service industry I was appalled at the complete lack of care and attention to the needs of a good paying customer. Cheddars management at the I-Drive, Orlando location should be ashamed of the poor training that led to not just one but 3 employees who witnessed our horrible experience and did nothing to attempt to make it right. We won't go back and for anyone reading this, neither should you! Any decent District or Regional manager would reach our to me to get more information on this horrible experience on...
Read moreFirst time visit this restaurant. My brother recommended for me. We wait 40 minutes because was very busy. But we were ok with that. When they call us, they ask us if we want high table, because if not, we had to wait for 35 more minutes. So, we say yes to that. We wait 30 minutes in table for our server. She take care of the tables at front of us, and the 2 tables at our right side. She never say hello, or ask us to wait because she was busy, nothing. She only got 3 table and our table. After the wait, she came to us say hi, I’ll be right back… and left. We wait 15 more minutes. When she came back, we were ready to order everything, because if we only order the drinks we weee going to wait forever for the food. So, when she finally arrive, we ask for the drinks, and we told her to order the food and she says “let me bring the drinks first” and she left. At that time we were so frustrated. Other lady came with the croissants (btw soooooo delicious. 10/10) that and the lemonade was my 2 favorites. I’m pregnant, sorry but I was so hungry and frustrated with all the waiting time. But we never be rude with her. She came back with our drinks after 15 more minutes little bit more… we order the food and we patiently wait. Two families after us came by… and guess what. They received their greetings, croissant and drinks in less than 15 minutes. We received our food. Was good. I can’t say nothing negative. Was good. And I request for one plate to go because I couldn’t finished my plate. My husband work and I we were like 30 minutes from home. So I asked her but she never came with the box. So I was so disappointed, frustrated, tired,… so I stand in front of the kitchen and asked another server for the box. We never get any apology for the wait, or the bad service. I just left… then she came back (with no plate) and asked my sister in law that if we had a good night with everything, and she told her about the situation and she was like “oh I’m sorry. I forgot the plate”. I don’t think I’m coming back to this location. The food was good. The croissant so fantastic. But I received the worst...
