We arrived as first customers of the evening shift and had all the attention of the staff. As we were alone in the reasonably sized restaurant the aircon made the environment extreme and we were uncomfortably cold, even with sweatshirts on.
This is a Punjabi style restaurant and not a generic Indian curry place. Those who know India also know of the vast cultural and culinary variations that enrich the country, through seasoning and spice use in dishes. Some indication as to the style would've been welcome so that we can make an assessment of preferred dishes to choose.
We had a small incident of lost in translation: one of us ordered lamb curry, and the other chicken korma but we both ended up with chicken dishes. The popadums were ok, the spice level of the entrees was good for my taste but medium was too hot for my companion.
The masala chai was served in coffee cups, smaller in size than I expected.
The restaurant became busy by the time we finished our dinner and the inside environment became bearable. Not sure why the restaurant was kept so cold.
The food was tasty but pricier than nearby...
Read moreI made the mistake of quickly ordering from here based on average reviews instead of latest reviews. The quantity of food is tiny. The chicken kebab i ordered was not only a tiny expensive portion but it smelled really funky. I had one bite and thought it out. The butter chicken was the greasiest I have ever and and the potion was tiny for the price we paid. It also packed flavor. They almost forgot the mango lassi in our order until I started reading the receipt out loud to make sure we had all our items 4 items plus lassi and the bag felt to light.
Once again the tiniest proportions and it was still too much as the both the chicken Tikka and chicken shish kebab were not fresh and the kebab definitely smelt awful. Both are grill items and also very greasy. Like they took old food and pan sauteed with oil.
Such a unsatisfying experience after having great Thai food yesterday. The positive reviews have to be from paid influences or something. 4/4 food items were far below par but the mango lassi tasted decent and not spoilt. I do wish they used more yogurt as...
Read moreAm a tourist on my vacation . I happened to search for indian cuisines near the place i stayed and ended up here. A friend had ordered takeout and had good opinions on it.
The positives - no complaints regarding the food. The turn around time too was quick. I’ve had bigger portions and sizes for similar food elsewhere but yes, its orlando. It aint cheap. So thats expected I guess, especially being a tourist.
The things i didnt like. - the moment my family walked in, I saw atleast 2 people at the reception, both hesitant to attend. Another lady came to take the order but it seems she was pissed off with someone and took it out on every customer. Zero courtesy, and both myself and my wife felt like wtf, are we eating for free! And even when paying the bill, it was a bit hard standing her attitude and almost felt like she was saying, just pay and leave. Saw another customer not so happy with her too. No thank you, no courtesy, nothing , but there is a 20% service fee on top of the bill. Thats the last time here for me anyways.
