I wish that I would have read these reviews prior to coming to dos bocas, Its complete horror story from beginning to the end. I was excited the moment I realized that it was a Puerto Rican restaurant because Iām very proud, and I love my people, unfortunately we were received with everything but love, the lady that brought us to our table had a nasty disposition, very rude, I figured that I wouldnāt let that ruin our experience, but that should of been my cue right there to leave. We waited 20 minutes before anyone came to attend us, then after ordering we waited another hour and 15 minutes before our food arrived. Everything was off about the food, the steak was very small and overcooked, the rice looked and taste more like mashed potato. The drinks were horrible you could barely taste the liquor, I ask our server if there was some sort of mistake because all of our drinks taste like pure juice, she responded in a very disrespectful manner āYEAH, WELL IM A WAITRESS NOT A BARTENDERā, we were all blown away by her reply, beyond nasty. I asked for the manager and they both walked over giggles, and when I tried to address everything from the food to the drinks, she said Iām sorry but you guys already ate some of the food, we canāt take it back, and as far as the drinks we could only put in the required amount of liquor, if you want I could bring you more but you will have to pay for it, next time ask for a extra shot on the side thatās what everyone else does, and she walked away giggling with our waitress. (She probably wasnāt even a manager, our waitress probably walked over with one of her friends that is also a waitress) we barely ate any of our food, and the drinks were way to sweet to enjoy even as a beverage so everything, and I mean everything went to waste because it was that bad. Mind you, it was my birthday, so my brother and sister paid the bill, they were here visiting from Puerto Rico, they wanted to go cilantrio, but I suggested this place because I already ate at cilantrio, quite a few times (CILANTRIO IS A VERY GOOD PLACE, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, I WISH WE WOULD OF WENT THERE) but I wanted to try something. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO DOS BOCAS!!!! But wait it gets better, the following day my sister realizes that they charged $673 for 4 of us on her credit card. Our experience was so disgusting that she didnāt bother to ask for a receipt when our waitress brought back the credit card, we just wanted to leave in a hurry because we had enough, our whole night was ruined, we never been so mistreated in our lives, THIS PLACE IS A SCAM, please read all of the one star reviews, I thought that I we were the only ones that went through this, but no a lot of other people have, and everyone canāt be lying or exaggerating, spend ur money with a place that is going to make you feel welcomed and with respect. My sister call dos Bocas the following day to asked why she was way over charged and they hung up on her 3 times, acting like they were transferring the phone call to a manager, she gave up and just disputed the charges with the bank. HORRIBLE, dos Bocas in Orlando does not represent šµš·, donāt be fooled by these scammers!!! CILANTRIO IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR REAL šµš· FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE!!!!! Again read all the other one star reviews before going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got robbed without gunpoint - 1 āļø. Parking was a nightmare at Cilantrillo's across the street so we searched looking for another PR restaurant and realized there was Dos Bocas. We arrived and was seated promptly. Atmosphere and service was nice but unexpectedly things took a turn from great to downright offensive. Let me say that our waitress was very nice but... You are offered a Texas size "special" drink with 5 different liquors which was overshadowed by massive amounts of ice - the picture they have on the table stand doesn't even show it has ice so we thought it was the slush texture which would've been better for us anyway. So much ice that it diluted the liquors and flavor. I asked to remove some ice, but they also felt the need to remove the orange peels and half of the lime; which I requested they put back. I'll address the kicker in a bit. After ordering the fried cheese appetizer, which came about 15 min later, we waited on the entrĆ©es.... it took them 1 hr 15 minutes for it to arrive (after the appetizer). In the interim the waitress did notice we were getting uncomfortable but informed us only ONCE, the food would be out "shortly". The food arrives and was well presented. We ordered the only two MP dishes on the menu. I don't ask for the price when I'm going out to eat because if it's good, I'll pay for it. However, this restaurant just changed my habit of approaching MP dishes from now on. The drink and the dishes, IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, were worth the price they slapped on it. My stuffed overfried Snapper with Conch, Octopus, Shrimp and an abundant amount of bell peppers and onions was NOT worth $90. My wife's Churrasco and Lobster tail was NOT worth $84. The "Special" drink was NO WAY IN HELL worth $40. Not to mention the overpriced fried cheese at $9. Here's the icing on the cake (which thankfully we didn't order) was the 18% gratuity for 2 people. Just my wife and I, they had the audacity to automatically charge a tip. No where was an apology for waiting over an hour for the entrĆ©es. In all my years of eating out, this was the most insulting experience I've ever had, AND done by my own people nonetheless. šµš·š Thanks to Dos Bocas, my tab felt like I was ordering for 8 Bocas, while changing the way I will approach ordering at any restaurant that has the prices at MP from now on. Between that, the shady way of automatically applying a tip to such a small table and the overall experience is a big NOT RECOMMENDED place to dine. And before you come on to say that seafood has gotten very expensive, I'm totally aware of costs and profit margins (having owned a restaurant myself), but this is an abuse of business behavior standards and just taking advantage of people. But you won't get a second...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not one to usually write reviews but I couldnāt not share how incredible this restaurant is ⦠so incredible weāve been there twice already in the last 3 days! From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly friendly, dressed professionally, the atmosphere was inviting and immaculately clean. It was hard to decide what to try first, everything sounded wonderful and we were shocked at how affordable everything was.
Hereās my quick points: ⢠You canāt beat the atmosphere, the quality of the food or the pricing. ⢠Everyone was so friendly; our first visit Tiffany (a bartender) took great care of us; our second visit Omar and Karin (also a bartender) took great care of us. Each was friendly, gave great recommendations and was a joy to interact with. ⢠Saturday there was live music, which was a great backdrop to the overall ambiance. ⢠The portions were so large even my husband was able to get two meals out of his dish! ⢠They have different happy hour specials from 6-9pm, Monday-Friday.
Both visits we sat in the bar area at a high-top table. Our first visit we started with the Mini Alcapurrias de Carne; I had the Pechuga Rellena de Jamón y Queso en Salso Dos Boacs, my husband had the fried pork chop with beans and rice. WOW! We took half home for dinner the next day, and were already talking about going back. The second visit we again sat in the bar area, and had Omar give us some additional suggestions. He was so helpful and friendly, and we started with the Canastitas de PlÔtanos Rellenas Pollo a la Criolla, which were delicious, and then shared the rack of ribs with beans and rice. The ribs had a sauce with just the right amount of kick, and we took just over half home.
We live about 2-1/2 hours south of here and would love for them to open a second restaurant in Punta Gorda (we keep planting the seed, although I know they just opened their doors here in Kissimmee about 9 months ago). During the week for dinner theyāre new enough you should be able to have little to no wait, but Iām sure that wonāt last long once the word gets out. They really have so many different options there should be something for everyone, including a kids menu and frappes that could be a meal in themselves. Trust me when I say, this is well...
