Terrible experience... I’m vegetarian so I looked at the Old Town restaurants before going to decide where to get dinner. I settled on Mr. Sushi Express because I thought I could get a tofu teriyaki meal fairly quickly to then eat with my husband and brother in law with whatever meaty food they got elsewhere. We waited 27 minutes, when they brought my meal the tofu was cold (after asking once where my food was and being told it would be 3 minutes). It was not busy at the time, they had one other table. The veggies under it looked great, rice on the side looked fine, but the tofu was clearly dumped out of a store bought container, sliced up and not cooked in any way, then dumped on top of the cooked vegetables. We took it back up, and asked for a refund. The first person was very nice and started processing our refund and apologized. Then the, I think, manager came over saying they brought us what I ordered. We said it’s cold, not cooked, the cooks standing behind her were nodding and agreeing with us. She said it was fine when she opened the package. I said that’s the point, you opened a package and didn’t cook it! Read moreTerrible. We both got chicken ramen and my hard boiled egg still had shell all over it. There was so much ginger in the broth that it was almost hard to swallow. (And I LOVE ginger... but it was unbelievably strong. Literal pieces of hard, crunchy ginger floating around that weren’t even cooked.) The chicken for the “Chicken ramen” was essentially sweet and sour batter fried pieces of chicken, so it was mushy and soggy in the soup broth. Not what you’d expect with ramen. The place is in the middle of Old Town which I didn’t realize before going, so instead of stopping in quickly to pick up my food, I had to search for parking for 20 minutes. Even with that delay, my food was still ready 30 minutes later than the order confirmation said it would be, so I had to sit there and wait while drunk people stumbled in and out of the restaurant, not even wearing masks. Cashier spoke to and served numerous customers who weren’t wearing masks. All of the appetizers we ordered were cold as a rock and soggy when it only took me 10 minutes to get home, so I know half of it was sitting around the kitchen while the ramen was cooked. Read moreOrdered from Postmates. We placed specific instructions to keep two rolls, chicken and crunchy veggie separate from other rolls because of a fish/shellfish allergy. Unfortunately the rolls with SPECIFIC instructions were placed with shellfish rolls. When we called the restaurant they tried to ignore the issue. It started with manager not on duty but when the severity escalated a manager appeared. When the manager got on the phone they checked with kitchen staff whom none of which recall placing special rolls with shellfish rolls. The situation was poorly handled and no fault was taken on behalf of the restaurant. It would have been a simple fix but we were advised by the manager to take it up with Postmates. Terrible experience. They tried to blame us for the accident when the instructions were clear and not followed but no staff members was interested in owning up to their fault.
