update to this review below.... Really? Whoever made the decision NOT to allow locals to watch such an important historical event, today, should be fired! Even public schools would have shown the Presidential Inauguration in the classrooms if they had been open! Shame on you! You will lose a lot of customers by showing such a disregard for the people of Hernando County!
An update to my review above....Rory, the general manager of Glory Days contacted me and asked me to call him today so I did. He wanted to explain what happened and I am satisfied with his explanation. He said that during the presidential debates, they played them on TV and several people got into fights and the police were called so Glory Days decided not to play the debates anymore for the safety of their customers. Unfortunately, the present manager didn't understand that the Presidential Inauguration was an historical event and not a political thing like the debates. So, when a customer came in, yesterday, and asked for them to play the inauguration on the TV, the manager said that he couldn't put political programs on TV anymore. The manager called the main office to confirm but, by the time he was told that this was not political but a part of history, the customers had left and told their friend who posted on Facebook that Glory Days refused to play the Presidential Inauguration. In fact, other Glory Days restaurants WERE playing the Inauguration on their TVs. Because of this misunderstanding, Rory has been attempting to contact all of the people who posted reviews and comments yesterday, to explain what happened. Something that he told me that I never knew before...Glory Days has a "Hero Burger" and $1 of each sale goes to Tunnels for Towers. (Google this) So, I felt it important to "set the...
Read moreFood was great, but the service is What guaranteed that we'll be back again. My husband ordered the Cobb salad which comes with chicken. He stressed to our server, and I'm so sorry I don't remember her name but she gets a lot of kudos for this, that he did not want croutons, because he's gluten-free. She wrote on the ticket that he's gluten-free which led to a series of events causing my husband's salad not to be brought to our table when mine and our friend's was. The server explained that the cook asked about him being gluten-free and they spoke about the fact that in their spices for the chicken that goes with a Cobb salad, there is flour as part of the spice mix, and that that would not work if he had a gluten allergy as opposed to a preference for no gluten. Our server came out and spoke with us verifying that my husband did indeed have celiac's and not just didn't care for gluten. The kitchen crew went the extra mile and cleaned off the grill and grilled the chicken on the cleaned off part of the grill as to avoid any possible contamination with gluten. The server then brought out his salad. Rory, the owner, stopped by our table to apologize for the delay and to speak with us. We had a lovely conversation with him, and he even told us that they had gluten-free buns for the burgers and that the french fries were fried in a dedicated fryer, again thereby avoiding contamination. We were very impressed and thankful for the way this team treated our request for no croutons on my husband's Cobb salad because he was gluten-free. We will definitely come back again and enjoy the burgers and...
Read moreFirst, The service was excellent. I had a very good waitress and the manager was also very accommodating. This was my first time at Glory Days Grill. As I looked through the menu, I thought their prices are definitely higher than other Grill restaurants in the area. I ordered their Fish and Chips lunch, which came with coleslaw. I sat there for longer than normal for my order to arrive. The restaurant capacity was less than half full. When the fish and chips lunch arrived, the fish was literally dripping with oil, or grease. The fish was on top of the french fries and the french fries were completely saturated and soggy with the dripping oil from the fish. I showed this to my waitress and she went to get the manager. The manager apologized and offered to reorder the fish and chips. She explained the the fish was not allowed to drip long enough in the frying basket and assured me the next one would be better. I accepted. The second time around was successful. I ate my lunch. However, the taste of the fried fish tasted like the frying oil was old and needed to be changed. The manager assured me they change their oil two times per day. I received my check and the manager had removed the price of the fish and chips, which I greatly appreciated. I had to pay only for the appetizer, which was a cup of clam chowder, which for the price, should've been for a bowl of clam chowder. I did leave a 20% tip for the waitress for the amount of what check total would've been. I'm not sure if I will return to Glory Days Grill, as the prices are too high, especially for the quality of...
