Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Jonae's Island Twist, located at 4775 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Here are six reasons why my experience was truly unforgettable:
Exceptional Flavor Profiles: The oxtail was simmered to perfection, offering a rich and robust flavor that was both comforting and deeply satisfying. It's rare to find oxtail cooked so well, and Jonae's Island Twist nailed it.
Perfectly Seasoned Jerk Chicken: The jerk chicken was a standout, with just the right balance of spices, heat, and smokiness. It was tender, juicy, and packed with flavors that transported me straight to the heart of Jamaica.
Delicious Sides: The plantains were cooked to perfection - sweet, soft, and caramelized, making for the perfect complement to the savory dishes. The rice was fluffy and flavorful, soaking up the rich sauces beautifully.
Warm and Inviting Atmosphere: From the moment I walked in, the welcoming vibe made me feel right at home. The Caribbean-inspired decor added to the authentic experience, making the meal even more enjoyable.
Friendly and Attentive Service: The staff at Jonae's Island Twist were genuinely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was excellent. Their recommendations were spot-on, and their attention to detail was appreciated.
Great Value: Considering the quality of the food and the portion sizes, I found the pricing to be very reasonable. It's fantastic to enjoy such incredible cuisine without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, Jonae's Island Twist is a gem in Kissimmee that serves up authentic and delicious Caribbean cuisine. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy flavorful dishes in a friendly and inviting setting....
Read moreVisiting this area and took our God daughters mini golfing for the day. We had a great time. When we left there, this Jamaican restaurant was right next door. We should have found somewhere else to go. The Jerk Chicken tasted good but the cabbage did not and I asked if they could switch out my cabbage for the Kale salad instead because the Kale salad looked amazing. I didn’t want much rice and she obliged me but gave me sooo much cabbage and it was honestly very bland. I ended up not eating my food therefore it went to waste. My hubby had the brown stew chicken and it had a weird taste to it. The sorrel drink tasted good but was a little too thick and more ice had to be added. I honestly feel that if I had the Kale salad with my food I would have had a better experience. Also it didn’t help matters that a Cockroach clinging to life was upside down under the next table.
Thank you so much for answering, and I wasn't trying to taint your establishment. I did try to get the ladies attention, but no one came out for a while. I would not be so trivial as to place or plant a bug in your establishment. I can't stand to see them much less touch them. However, there were quite a few tables that were in disrepair and in need of cleaning. I have removed the photo of the bug as I realize how damaging this can be for any business. That was not an issue. My main issue was that I wanted the salad instead and I was willing to pay to switch it out but I wasn't even given that opportunity. Yes, we are both small businesses and believe we've had our share of consumer challenges, but like I said it no one came out for a long time, and by the time they came out, it was time for us to go, and the feeling of eating had passed. Again, thank you for your...
Read moreI deliberately did not eat breakfast a couple of days ago just to try this place, despite some of the reviews about bland food, portion sizes, and unfriendly staff. So I arrived at Jonae’s right at 1115, and they were still closed......lol. A nice lady comes out and tells me that they will be opening in about 20-30 more minutes. I said, “ok”; looking at my watch. In all honesty, I was thinking to myself, “ this is a bad start; they don’t open on time”. Well, I returned at 12 noon, and the same nice lady waved me on in, and BOY! was I glad I didn’t blow this place off after opening late. Up until this day, I had not been satisfied with ANY food I had eaten in Kissimmee. Jonae’s changed that for me! I had the oxtails at the suggestion of another gentleman who was also there his first time. The food was HOT, FRESH , FLAVORFUL, delivered in a timely fashion, and the portion size was more than ample. The nice lady even threw in a beef pattie ( or as she said it “ beef pahtee”) for opening late. Folks! Don’t believe the lies you read about this place on this review site. I personally believe the bulk of them are posted by their competitors. At any rate, give Jonae’ a real shot. It will be worth your while. THANK YOU JONAE! for an EXTRAORDINARY overall dining experience! AND if you have to open late to ensure that every guest receives what I did on my visit, Then I say, open late. Much love to all of you there; AND the nice lady.
