J Crab House — Restaurant in Kissimmee

This restaurant, does not feel like a restaurant. It feels like walking into a friend or family house and having a wholesome meal with welcoming hosts. James, and his mother do such a wonderful job at making sure you are served to the degree of what would be acceptable to close friends and family. Let this establishment surprise you. (You will know exactly what I mean when you experience it). Without exaggerating, I could write an entire essay of the mindset, humbleness, and true craft James and his mother have created. James even gave us a rundown of night life for our kids (free skyline rides over Disney at the exact time to watch the Epcot fireworks, wrote us a map and guidelines to follow at each point, and…. Was spot freaking on with the timing and it blew us away!!). We also did the Andretti thrill park. Wow, the food speaks for itself and was out of this world, it is absolutely worth every single cent. It was hands down the best fried shrimp I have ever had, (don’t ask about the portions, it’s extremely generous and you will be shocked at the quantity and quality). James, thank you my friend. Well I’ll give it 3 stars because yes the food was good and the establishment was nice and clean. On the other hand being a local I sense a little price gouging maybe because of the area it’s in. I say that because I can honestly say I’ve never been to restaurants where snow crab is $28lb for example. Prices seemed pretty steep. The whole purpose on going there was for the blue crabs which were sold out a certain shrimp was sold out and went to order dungenous crab and that was sold out. Wasn’t to happy with the so called fine dinning. Plastic utensils and styrofoam plates 🤔. Very strict menu with little sloagans on it saying mother and son owned be patient we’re working hard etc. to me that’s useless information and something that’s not my problem. Over heard things being said about him being the only server and won’t answer the phone when he starts getting busy. First off let me say I love the food here. It pains me to leave a review for a non chain restaurant like this but the owners of this restaurant refuse to inform their”guests” of hours of operation and it’s charming the way they yell at you on their menu to a certain point. This establishment makes it feel like they are the ones who are PAINED to be serving you. Food is good but menu serves it with a mocking look and a restrictive gaze. Do NOT try to contact the restaurant directly. They do not have an option to call the establishment. The recording also makes you feel lesser for even calling.
