I recently visited Miller's Ale House off Naples Blvd for dinner with my kids, hoping for a casual and easy-going pub food experience. However, I must admit that my expectations fell short, and in retrospect, I should have chosen a different establishment.
Let's start with the positives. The décor both inside and outside the restaurant is quite impressive. The architecture and overall ambiance gave off a promising pub-like vibe, reminiscent of establishments like Texas Roadhouse but without the chain restaurant feel. When we first arrived, I genuinely believed it held great potential.
Regrettably, the food and service turned out to be abysmal, to say the least.
Now, I'm not one to write a negative review lightly. I prefer to approach dining experiences with an unpretentious mindset, without unreasonable expectations for extravagant service or top-tier food quality, especially at 1-star or 2-star establishments. However, in the case of Miller's Ale House, both the food and service were simply subpar.
It took a considerable 15-20 minutes before a server brought us menus and water. Once we finally had a chance to place our orders, I hoped that the process would speed up, especially since I had my young children with me. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We waited an uncomfortably long time, and it seemed like we were the only table experiencing such a delay. Whether due to a shortage of staff or lack of motivation on the servers' part, the service left much to be desired.
To add to the disappointment, when our food finally arrived, everything came out all at once—my beer, the appetizer, and the main courses. It felt rushed and chaotic.
The appetizer, a chips and dip dish, left much to be desired. The dip was clearly microwaved, and while I understand that in a low-cost pub setting, microwaved items are not uncommon, this particular dip was excessively hot and, when it finally cooled down, it became unappetizing to the point where we couldn't bring ourselves to eat it.
The main courses suffered a similar fate. It was evident that they had been microwaved, resulting in a lack of flavor and overall quality. Even my kids, who are usually not too picky, found the food unappealing and barely touched their plates.
All in all, it seems that Miller's Ale House perhaps prioritizes their bar business over their food offerings. The large dining area may give the impression that the food would be at least satisfactory, but sadly, that was not the case during my visit.
Considering my experience, I cannot recommend trying Miller's Ale House. There are certainly better dining options available in Naples that will provide a more enjoyable and...
Read more9/8 Went in for a quick lunch. Half heartedly welcomed when we came in by associate who was busy texting with a friend on his phone and dumped at a table on his way to the back.
Waiter showed up about 4 mins later. Oh. I didnt know you were here. Figured he must have been hiding in back too, texting the host. Anyway. We ordered some of our favorites, pot stickers and six wings carib jerk, soda and a draft. Directed them to bring food out at same time. 13 mins later our pot stickers come out warm, no wings, told they will be out shortly, finishing the last pot sticker, about 10 more mins, and plate of scrawny gooey wings appear at our table. Yes, you guessed it. Luke warm. These wings were way non-standard, skinny and small and not worth a fraction of the price charged. They masked them with about a cup and half of some guy sauce.
Wife did not feel like a confrontation with staff as she had a bit of a headache from the excessively loud TV's being played throughout. Mostly commercials.
This is the first Millets Ale House we every were in that didn't welcome us warmly and give good service / food. We were suprised nobody came buy to ask how our meal was, or to see if we needed anything else. We also noticed that booth behind us order was messed up and part if it didn't come out. Watched lady sit and watch her companions eat while her food was prepared, waiter did say he was sorry. We left before her food came out.
We do not recommend this establishment. Think management and staff (kitchen, wait, and host) training...
Read moreTook about 15-20 mins to be seated. Host was clearly unsanitary, given how bad his BO was. Didn't even say a word to us as we were walking to the table and sat down. We ordered two waters, which took about 10 mins to arrive. I ordered a 12 Oz strip steak, cooked medium. Food took about 30 mins to arrive. Saying it was cooked rare is an understatement, as it was cold to the touch, bleeding, and covered in some chunky random white sauce, which wasn't even on the menu. Obviously I had it sent back, as I had no clue what I could have consumed and contracted. About 15 mins after sending it back, a physical altercation between staff and a customer ensued, and it was really bad. Glasses were knocked off the bar, one elderly patron was knocked off her high top seat and hit her head on the floor. Police and paramedics were called and had to talk with staff about the incident. (This was on 1/16/24.) Ultimately canceled the steak and just left, as everything about this place was just horrendous. My waitress was absolutely incredible, however. I believe her name was Eileen or Elysse. She took such great care of us and talked to us for quite some time about everything and made sure we were alright and weren't injured or anything. I'll certainly never return to this hell hole of a restaurant, as it's not clean or sanitary, service was painfully slow, and the food was horrific. Hopefully the Health Inspector pays a visit and gets this place shut down for good, as this place was an absolute catastrophe from...
