Above all else, I will rate the food as good, at least what my fiancee and I ordered. Beyond that, there are improvements that are needed. We arrived last night, (Friday.) around 8:30 pm. After doing some searching for local Italian restaurants, we decided to give this place a try. The hostess brought us to the South section of the restaurant which seemed fairly crowded. When I asked if we could sit in the North side section, which did have less people, she said they were closing that section. We were given a booth on the far wall and the waiter Peter arrived to ask us if he could bring us something to drink. As we had not enough time to decide, he asked if we would like waters which he brought soon after. This would be the last time we would see him for quite awhile. After we looked over the beverages and seeing what they were charging for a glass of wine, we decided to stick with water. After we had decided to order for our dinners, I looked around for our waiter to return. Most restaurant wait staff should have a good idea a general time in which to return to take orders but he seemed to have gotten preoccupied with something away from the dining area. I raised my hand to signal another waiter over and asked him to find ours because we were ready to order, in which he replied, "owner?" We corrected him and he left and went into the back. Well, the owner or manager, not entirely sure which he was, came to our table. Needless to say, he took our orders for an appetizer and our dinners then said he would also bring some garlic bread. He was very efficient, polite and accommodating but seriously, how often can someone expect to be served by the owner or manager? My fiancee ordered the Penne Ala Vodka with chicken added for an extra $5 and I wanted a simple tomato sauce pasta with meatballs and house salads instead of soup, either of which came with our dinners. The prices for them and most items are what you would expect from an Italian restaurant, especially in Boca Raton. The garlic bread arrived in a basket which was steaming hot and delicious and the salads which were simple and their Caesar dressing which is tasty however I had 2 olives in my salad but my fiancee had none. We don't care for olives but they should be more consistent in the kitchen. We had ordered the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer but had we known a basket of hot garlic bread is given anyway, we would have not ordered more bread. It took longer than perhaps it should have for our dinners to arrive but we were hungry and you know what it's like when hunger sets in: time can seem to stand still until you have food in front of you. Our dinner portions were delicious and a good size so a normal person can expect to be prepared to bring home a doggie bag. It was only after we were well into eating our dinner did our waiter return to ask how everything was. Seriously? What the heck had he been doing that whole time? Shooting craps out in the back with the some of the other staff? During dinner, I looked across to see the hostess slouching over her podium, quite busy on her cell phone and mostly oblivious to anything else. Management, take note: it might be a good idea to have your employees focus more on customer service and saving all personal things for after work hours. Before dinner was finished, my fiancee told me she'd like to look over the dessert menu so I asked our waiter at his next passing if he would please bring it. He said he could just recite it which he did regardless of my request. When he done, I then said "Now, can you bring us the menu?" Another note to management: when a patron asks for something specific, unless you don't have it, teach your staff to honor that request and not instead give what the staff decides is a better alternative. The dessert portion of the menu is standard Italian restaurant offerings but why would the normal conscientious person want to pay over $5 for ONE Cannoli? In closing, the food is good but spend more time giving better service to...

Read moreSo disappointed as this used to be our favorite restaurant. I never send back food, but there was definitely something off Fri night. It started with the fried calamari appetizer. It was chewy and tasted off . We didn't eat it and explained to the waiter it didn't taste right. I ordered Shrimp Oregenato for dinner and it came out cold and the bread crumbs tasted stale and had a weird after taste. My friend ordered the chicken Francaise and also said it tasted off. We sent both meals back but I did eat the small SIDE of pasta mine came with, which they charged $10.99 for. Seriously? It wasn't even a child's portion. I think the "boss" was annoyed because I chose not to order a replacement meal. My friend ordered the Penne Ala Vodka, which she said was good. They charged me full price for the Calamari and the $10.99 for the tiny bowl of noodles with garlic and oil and of course the other 2 meals that were ordered. Lesson learned. I went home hungry after spending almost $100 and very unsatisfied. Not recommending it and never going back. It is really unfortunate because we were raving about it before we walked in and were looking forward to a great meal. Now I know why on a Fri night most of the tables were empty. And the 2 stars is only because the pasta and garlic...
