I went here with my husband and our boys tonight (6/17/19). We ordered 1 (yes, only one) large pizza and 5 drinks and a side salad. Our bill was $42.00...No Joke. I asked to see the itemized receipt and ALL OF THE ITEMS were priced $1-2.00 higher than the menu price. When I pointed this out to the girl, she showed me the Lunch selection on the back of the menu and at the very bottom, in small print it said “prices subject to change”. Really. That’s your excuse. She said these were there “old fees”. I asked how long have the fees been updated and she said they had crates of menu and would update After they used all those menus up. So, still didn’t answer my question. Have the prices been changed for a year? Two years? Unacceptable. Plus, after leaving and adding up what the price should have been from the old menu, the final price was still approximately $5-7 more. I’m assuming she included gratuity for my party of 6. I haven’t looked to see if their was a menu posted on their website. I’d be interested to know if they updated their fees there?! I’ll definitely be checking. As a customer, I do not appreciate being deceived or lied to. If it were not for my husband, our hungry kids, and the customers waiting in line behind us, I would have just left for a more honest place of business. Now, I realize this is not the girls fault however, she obviously knows the fees are different than those displayed on the menu so could have just kindly let me know the fees reflected on the menu were a few dollars off per each item. That would have at least braced me for the shock of the price before I paid. She also could have informed me gratuity was added. The pizza was hot but nothing special. Not a ton of flavor or seasoning. I did like how they did their thin crust though. We vacation in Destin a lot but I will not be going to another PIZZA BY THE SEA and will not be recommending to my Panhandle friends and families either. Very...
Read moreWe came in September of 2019, and were so excited to come back to Sandestin for this pizza.
Upon arrival, we saw a sign that said that to-go orders had to be ordered outside, over the phone. There was no number on the door for us to call. We had to look it up ourselves. We called 4 times, and got a busy signal. Another family went in to order, so we followed. I told the young man that we tried calling 4 times, but couldn’t get through. He was going to take our order, then he told a young lady that I couldn’t get through on the phone. She told me to try it again. This time it went through. The girl told me I could go outside to order since the call came through. Now don’t get me wrong.... I am all for social distancing and doing what needs to be done during this pandemic, but the fact that WE WERE ALREADY IN THE BUILDING, WITH OUR MASKS ON, ready to place a to-go order, her asking us to go outside just seemed very out of pocket. ESPECIALLY after an entirely unmasked family was able to sit and order inside. We literally ordered our food while looking at the guy at the register through the window. Their entire social distancing policy seems a little backwards. You can dine-in and place your order inside, but you have to call in to-go orders. Just seems backwards. Mind you, we had no intentions on waiting around inside.
We did eat the pizza in our car, then headed to the beach, but that experience just left a very sour taste in our mouths.
Oh and... 1 medium pizza was $18..... save your money and go...
Read morePizza By The Sea at the Sandestin Market Shops is a great place for pizza, pasta, and hoagies. I stopped by tonight for two large pizzas and a baked spaghetti to go. The wait staff are friendly and courteous, and updated me on my order while I waited. The restaurant is clean. The have both inside and outside seating areas.
The pizza is delicious and reminds me of New York style pizza - thin crust so you fold your pizza slice to eat. The baked spaghetti is great and included a side salad and bread stick (the lunch portion is smaller than the dinner portion).
What makes Pizza By The Sea at the Sandestin Market Shops unique is that they will deliver via golf cart/low speed vehicle to Sandestin Resort properties - a cool idea.
Parking Tip: when you exit the Market Shops, don’t try to cross the busy Highway 98 traffic. Instead, in the parking lot, drive toward the main Sandestin entrance (there is a Sacred Heart Medical building at the end of the parking lot). Take a right, then left. Cross the traffic in front of the Sandestin Beachside gate, then left ... and you can exit at the main intersection, at the red light. This is a much safer way to get back on Highway 98.
