on today’s adventures of the traveling truck show, we stopped off at Maple Street biscuit Company here in Florida! Stopping in to get me some breakfast before I continue my travels to Lake Placid. When you first walk up, you can see it’s in a shopping center with other breakfast lunch joints however, it is quite intriguing when you step in. It’s like a Cracker Barrel 2.0.
Today I ordered the: veggie frittata $12 veggie risky biscuit $8 crispy potatoes $4 roasted apples $3.50 Cup of water free!
Totaling $29.43
The first thing I took a bite into was this amazing biscuit and gravy! I’m enjoying the seasonings along with the portobello flavors popping in this gravy. It’s thick and creamy super filling. The biscuits are crispy and flakey on the outside with the inside soft enough to melt as it’s unfolding as you chew! The gravy to biscuit ratio is perfect.
The home fries are season perfectly perfect crispy and soft bites every time! Don’t really need any ketchup or hot sauce.
The roasted apples are super soft. They have a lot of cinnamon I was expecting them to be somewhat juicier. For my personal palette the cinnamon was overpowering the other flavors to make the roasted apples.
The veggie Frito plate is a waffle made of eggs, red, green bell peppers, white onion, cheddar cheese. The texture is not bad at all it’s quite satisfying.
The plate comes with two fried hash brown potatoes w chives that look like little crab cakes.
The flavors through all the dishes are very intense.
Of all the plates my favorite was the Veggie Risky Biscuits!!
The atmosphere and staff are a delight!
I definitely recommend stopping into Maple Street Biscuit Company to experience something that makes you...
Read moreVisited today and our experience wasn't that great. The gentleman working the counter was trying to cover as much as he could as was most of the kitchen help. Apparently management went on a break. So we stood at the register patiently while he made coffee order that were backed up. Finally the manager (a sloth) crawled at a snails pace back to the register to help his staff. We were then informed that they were out of biscuits (their whole business built around biscuits) and that we would need to wait another 20 minutes if that's what we wanted to order. So we changed our order to Chicken tenders, and the second was chicken with waffle, bacon and gruyere cheese and a side of fried green tomatoes. We sat at a table and parts of our order started to come to the tables. PARTS! The chickens tenders came out and the waffle portion of the other order. Then much later the chicken portion of the second order was brought to the table. We never received the bacon and cheese portion of the second order. The chicken portion was over battered so big chunks of raw batter was clinging to the chicken. We didn't get what we originally wanted to order, and then we didn't get all of what we had to order. First, If your business model is built around biscuits, why would you run out of biscuits? Second, why would you bring a plate of food to a table if it was incomplete? This type of service is unacceptable and obviously the store is poorly managed. A good manager would never allowed any of this to impact his customer. It was our second visit and most...

The spacious dining room was half full but many tables had dirty dishes on them. The menu wasn’t big, but the choices looked promising. You order food first and wait for it (think Panera Bread). When we came up to order, the nice lady taking our order was very flustered and told us this is her first day and she was not familiar with the menu or ordering system. We placed our order and had to wait for about 25 minutes for food (not a problem since we were still hopeful for a delicious brunch). classic breakfast taco: missing salsa, sour cream, and potatoes, the sausage tasted weird, and we were not able to eat it Gritz bowl- decent 5/10 Sweet Grace waffles - alright, but missing whipped cream Squawking Goat breakfast taco. Drenched in the spicy jelly, and very overpowered. Not really good. Retro plate - basic. I ate it. biscuits and gravy – not too bad, but kind of light on the gravy If there was a server, or if the existing staff looked less overwhelmed, I would’ve asked for the missing items, but they looked too busy with their tasks and I didn’t feel...
