1st visit and we ordered the Italian beef sandwich. At first I tried to order online but it wouldn't let me finish. So we just walked in. Nice setting, 50s style. There is a pickup/delivery section. You can also buy this huge chocolate cake and cake slices already packaged to go. Very convenient 👍.
The establishment is clean and there is indoor and covered outdoor seating options. I could see housekeeping. and management was walking around greeting - nice touch👍.
We were greeted by Eddie, who assured us we'd wished we had our own individual chocolate cake shake (he was right)👍.
I would say, the sandwich comes as you see in our picture (we had sweet peppers). If you want the Giardiniera peppers be sure to say so and same for the gravy on the side (extra).
True to it's claims, the beef was tender and flavorful. Not a bunch of fatty bits mixed in or covered up with BBQ sauce. I was well pleased. Any condiments you'll need to add for yourself to taste like mustard etc. I'm not a soggy bread person, so my last bites were kind of paste on my bread but again, this sandwich is very nice and I would recommend giving it a try and garnish as you desire. We tried fries and onion rings, to me they were just fries & onion rings.
To the chocolate cake shake.. be prepared. This thing is outrageous - it was like trying to suck chocolate frosted cake up my straw - IT IS FROSTED CHOCOLATE CAKE EXTREME, you may need a spoon like a DQ Blizzard on steroids. You will get your chocolate fix on this shake. There are other shakes to choose chocolate, strawberry vanilla if chocolate cake isn't your thing and they can malt it as well which is very 50s style.
I appreciated being appreciated as a patron and a consumer because that trait seems long forgotten by establishments anymore.
It was also a treat to see people of all ages, ethnicities and breeds (😂). I think they handled this spring break evening rush very well and I...
Read moreOur visit to Portillo's Orlando on Palm Parkway was nothing short of a nostalgic delight. Having frequented Portillo's in my hometown near Chicago, I was thrilled to discover this gem in Orlando, especially with its proximity to Disney. The excitement of rediscovering a beloved favorite was palpable as my girlfriend and I made a special trip there together before heading over to Disney.
The introduction of Plant Based hot dogs on the menu was a pleasant surprise and a testament to Portillo's commitment to catering to a variety of dietary preferences. The hot dogs were simply delicious, capturing the essence of the classic Chicago-style dog while offering a cruelty-free alternative. Each bite brought back fond memories of home, infused with the vibrant flavors of Portillo's signature offerings.
Beyond the delectable food, what truly set Portillo's apart was its rock 'n roll vibe and infectious energy. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement, reminiscent of a lively concert or festival. It was a welcome escape, evoking the same sense of magic and joy one would expect from a day at Disney, albeit in a different setting.
As we savored our meal, it became clear that Portillo's Orlando had become a new favorite spot for us. The combination of great food, vibrant ambiance, and friendly service left us thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. While we eagerly anticipate future visits, my one wish would be for Portillo's to consider eliminating animal products from the cooking process of their fries, aligning with the compassionate ethos of their Plant Based offerings.
In conclusion, our experience at Portillo's Orlando was a delightful journey down memory lane, filled with delicious food and vibrant energy. We'll be back again and again, savoring each moment and creating new memories...

From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the nostalgic atmosphere, complete with neon signs, checkerboard floors, and vintage memorabilia adorning the walls. The jukebox tunes playing in the background only added to the authentic feel of the diner.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the food! Oh my goodness, the food was absolutely amazing! 😍 I indulged in a juicy, perfectly cooked burger that was bursting with flavor, topped with all the classic fixings. The crispy, golden fries on the side were the perfect companion to the heavenly burger.
But wait, it gets even better! The milkshakes at Portillo's are truly the cherry on top of the sundae. I tried their signature chocolate shake, and it was like sipping on a dream - thick, creamy, and utterly divine. It was the perfect embodiment of those classic '50s shakes that you just can't find anywhere else.
The staff at Portillo's was also worth mentioning. They were friendly, attentive, and really brought that good ol' fashioned service to life. They made sure my experience was top-notch from start to finish, always serving up smiles alongside the scrumptious food.
