Believe the negative reviews. After going here for the first time I now understand where the negative reviews are coming from. Our waitress seemed put off and annoyed with our presence. Tasty bread was brought out to the table when we arrived. The bread arrived, warm and swiftly. However, the dipping oil was canola oil and not real extra-virgin olive oil. We inquired about getting extra-virgin olive oil oil and our waitress told us they do not have any in the restaurant. Of course, this seems quite strange for Italian restaurant as that is a staple in Italian cooking. Perhaps they have olive oil in the back and just don’t bring it out for customers to consume with bread. Not sure. We ordered a couple pizzas, pasta, lasagna, and one gluten-free pasta dish. The pizzas were terrible. I have eaten pizza in New York and Italy and many other places around the country and this has to be one of the worst pizzas we’ve ever tried. The cheese and toppings were tasty, but the dough was flavorless, and the consistency dry in a bad way similar to a gluten-free crust, however, it wasn’t gluten-free. The lasagna was excellent and I would recommend trying that if you end up having to go to this restaurant. The pasta, is supposedly shipped in from Italy, but it was no different than any boxed pasta you would buy at Publix. The gluten-free pasta was as expected and no different than most other restaurants serving gluten-free pasta.
Save your time and money and go to one of the many other Italian restaurants in Naples, as this place is certainly is not worth it.
Addendum: Thank you for the quick response to my review. Unfortunately, you were mistaken about the oil. The oil they brought out to our table was definitely not EVOO. If it was, it was the lowest quality EVOO I’ve ever tasted in my life as it was clear and bland and did not taste like EVOO, as I happen to be an EVOO extraordinaire. Additionally, your server told us it was definitely not EVOO. Perhaps the flour you used was stale or not stored properly. Additionally, perhaps your cooks did not know how to prepare or cook the pizza dough because the dough was certainly off, and I’ve had pizza at very high and Italian Neapolitan certified restaurants. I’ve also had pizza in many places in New York City and yours pales in comparison to those. You certainly are witty with your responses to your customers, particularly the negative reviews. However, you keep mentioning your 4.6 and 4.5 star ratings but you’ve already dropped to 4.3 on google and I would expect that to continue to plummet. Good luck with...
Read moreMe and my sister went for a lunch after reading the great reviews for the food and ignoring the one for the service but, unfortunately once we were there we decided that we will not even sit and give a chance to the food. The girl on the front had a face like she hates us , and she doesn’t even know us of course. She had this face that is hard to explain. I don’t know if she hates her life and not us, but she looked at us like that and she told us we can choose where we want to sit with unpleasant voice... The restaurant had only one table with customers that was outside, so in a restaurant that is completely empty you expect the host will be happy to see you. I don’t want to judge people and i know some people are like that, but then this is not the right place for her to work. People go out to eat and have a good time and obviously they are paying for that, so they don’t expect to be facing unhappy faces. Me myself have been server and host in the past and i know how important is to leave your problems at home in any hospitality business, or to move on in your life in different direction and stop working in a place that involves pleasing customers. She didn’t even need to do anything, we didn’t even ask for a service, we just told her we came to eat and we were thinking where to sit , outside or inside, she looked at us like she either hates us or hates her life that she needs to deal with seating people in a restaurant. Seriously, people out there that are terrible like this , i hope they get the same service that they give, everywhere they go , so they can see through their eyes how that looks and they can feel the energy that brings down any energy. After giving few steps, me and my sister we just looked at each other and we said in the same time - we are out of here! That is how terrible and unpleasant her voice and face were when we ask her to be seated. I’m writing this review with a hope that the girl that was there today (Wednesday afternoon, around 2pm, 28th of April, 2021) will read this and will rethink her life and her way of working and doing her job, because once you are at your work place you have to do your job, that is what most of the people do when they are at work, no matter...
Read moreTo start off simply, if you're deciding wether or not you should eat here for lunch/dinner the answer is YES! To describe the experience in one word it was simply amazing! The owner, Joe, is so kind and the staff, including his lovely daughter Brittany, are so sweet and helpful. I stopped in this evening for some takeout with my boyfriend and we took our time deciding what to eat (everything on the menu looks AMAZING so it's incredibly hard to choose!) while having drinks at the bar. After we ordered and waited for our food we got to talking with the Joe. They've been open since 2011 and I can clearly see why! He has such a heart for the people in his restaurant, striving to stay open during quarantine just so his employees could have reliable income and his customers can come for a guaranteed delicious meal. The food, even after a 40 minute (!!) DRIVE home, was incredible and HOT, and the portions were huge, easily lasting 2-3 meals for a light eater like myself! The wings italiano, chicken parm sandwich, and fettuccine Alfredo with (fried) chicken were ALL 5(5 STAR). We will DEFINITELY be returning soon to try much more of the delicious looking options they have available and HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do too. Stop in and say hi to Joe and Brittany, you won't regret it!
Also, editing after reading further reviews. I can only say so many amazing things about this place, because I took the time to sit, talk and have a genuine conversation with the individuals working. Everyone has a bad day, a rough customer, or just can be at a low point. These people in this restaurant were obviously working hard and were very focused on the job at hand. I very much enjoyed my time here, just waiting for a take out order no less!!! I can’t imagine the type of dissatisfaction one must have with their own life to write a review, just as long, to completely tear apart someone over a facial expression. Please ignore this negativity and stop by rosedale on your next pizza/Italian night and say hi to joe, you will have a great...
