The restaurant appeared clean and was seated quickly but could be because it was not so busy on a Thursday at like 5 ish. Anyway salad was good, miso soup was so so, the Steak Teriyaki was pretty good, and numerous sushi rolls were good size and pretty good minus one I did not care for. But everything can't be to my taste. The service was below average as we had to ask for refills numerous times, condiments and had to wait little longer than expected. At the end we were presented the bill and the numbers did not look right so we asked for a menu and the items we ordered were each up charged 4% (line item by line item). I asked the waitress why the upcharge and she said for credit card charges and I responded we did not give you any form of payment nor did we indicate any form of payment. We were advised that it is restaurant policy and prices could not be changed back to listed prices. I normally don't write these but in these times I think future possible patrons should be aware of this at this location and who knows what other restaurants are doing this kind of scheme. JUST A HEADS UP TO ALL and if asked would I go back to this restaurant the answer is 100...
Read moreWhen in town for the weekend we asked for sushi restaurant recommendations and several people said to try Sushi One. Even Yelp and Google gave this place high marks.
I'm guessing the people of Naples have not had the opportunity to eat really good sushi. Sushi One is not it. While it is OK and not horrible I found it to be too expensive for what is basically grocery store quality sushi. My friend's order was not correct and they really didn't hurry to correct it. He had to asked for an update it took so long. It's as if they put it in the back of the queue.
Prices seem high as nigiri is priced per piece at $3.75 or $4.75? The blue crab nigiri was actually pretty bad. And the sushi options are limited. There was no sweet ebi, no toro, no lobster, no uni. Maybe I dodged those bullets.
I should have just had the sushi at Publix and...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Sushi One last night as we're pleasantly surprised. Not crowded when we got there, but soon after, it was almost full to capacity. 2 of us had the Salmon Teriyaki, and one had the Steak Teriyaki. We all had them cooked to different levels, and we were all very happy when we got our meals. The portions were large, and the food tasted wonderful. The staff was attentive and courteous, but English may not have been her primary language. Still, she did quite well once we got going. I asked if they had coke (on the menu) and was told they didn't carry it. So we all had water. We didn't have dessert because we were all so full after the meal. Casual dining at its best. Sorry I didn't take photos. We were so hungry we all dove in and before you knew it there was nothing but...
