Salvati's Pizza Factory — Restaurant in Florida

It seems like pizza places pop up here and there all the time but I admit that Salvati’s drew me in due to its location (attached to an arcade). Much like the arcade, the pizza place offered a fresh new look but lacked content. The employees were friendly enough and I was more than content with their service. The menu offered a fair selection ranging from the classics to the hip new trendy pie. The layout of the place is clean but that’s about it… it lacks any sense of theme (like the arcade) which makes it appear almost awkward. Most importantly are these two factors: The prices were high…. I mean strip club VIP room high… maybe I would be fine with it if not for the second point. The pizza was completely saturated in grease… not like the typical “White girl patting a napkin over her pizza as if she was giving it CPR” but like you could cook a full sized mammal in a deep fryer with it. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) Weirdly the pizza did have a decent taste (once you toweled off the gallon of grease) but unlike ANY OTHER pizza in the world, it tasted horrendous the next day… How is this possible?!

Ate here two years ago and the pizza was fantastic! Rolled into Destin today and wanted something easy tonight for dinner. Based on past experience, thought for sure this would hit the spot! WRONG!

Called to place the order and the guys says, “just want to let you know it is hour and a half wait for take out and three hours for delivery.” So we said sure, we will pick it up. He then says, “ok, let me get something to write with.” He comes back....”what do you want?”

I should have known based on the young mans lack of desire to take the order that I should have gone somewhere else. My mistake. Walked in expecting the place to be slammed, only to find that there is one table in the restaurant. I assumed they were trying to get out as soon as possible and that was confirmed when another family walked in and they gave them some song and dance and outbthe door they went.

Hope the owner(s) are able to see this and make some adjustments. Hate that I bragged about this pizza to another family traveling with us and it turned out to be terrible pizza and even worse...

I've been here once and the place was fantastic, but also brand new. Tonight, after the cashier charged me 30 dollars 4 times on four different cards, (he kept saying they were declined, but it was human error) we sit down to wait for our order, and were the ONLY ones then. After 45 minutes of waiting for a small pizza, I go up to ask that it be boxed instead of served there. At that time, I was asked which one was mine (again, only customer) and he informed me that it hasn't even been started. Asked for refund and only got ONE out of four back but tried to sneak and keep the tip on the receipt. A shame but I won't be going back. The excuse" the girl who usually cooks is slow and it is her birthday today". Guess that's why we call off in advance to be able to stay away from work... Especially if you're practicing piss poor customer service. Take away- spent 113.00 on a 16 inch pizza, left with 26...
