THE MARKET BY FOOD & WINE — Restaurant in Florida

At an airport I never expect much out of food or people ...or service. I was surprised and delighted today when I popped in for a drink at the food and wine market. I was promptly greeted by Lynne (had gorgeous hair. Violet shadow roots with low lights. And layers. Love it. And lilac framed glasses!) I felt super welcome from the greeting and having a similar hair color myself. I sat at the bar and Lynne told me about the charging station and luggage hooks under the bar. I was still groggy from a week of partying on the beach and knew I wanted a drink, I ordered a mojito, wanted to keep it light. Lynne told me at this time they're not making mojitos but she can make a highball drink, vodka or tequila, with passion fruit. It comes as a double. I opted to try it with vodka...wowww. I ordered another and decided to have a BLT with parmesean fries. The food was awesome! String type fries and the sandwich is like how a good mama makes it. Crispy thick bacon. Good amount of lettuce and tom. I am not from the area and asked Lynne a few questions about Florida and the area. Lynne was super friendly and shared some cool stories about the local area and tropical storms. The other guests seated at the bar were all very kind and good vibes. It was such a treat ending to my lovely vacation week. Lynne is an awesome and attentive bartender and drink artist. I only wish I took a photo of the passion fruit drink i was served!! It looked like a clear sunrise or beachy sunset. Just clear and yellow goodness. Thanks so much Lynne and thanks so much FT. Lauderdale airport. Everything...

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! My friend and I had a long layover so we decided we wanted to watch the game ...We went and ordered some food after walking into the restaurant .. All the channels are sports channels so we asked if we could see the game.They said “we don’t control the TVs the airport does”. So we told them we only came to watch the game and to keep the food we’re leaving! My friend only had water so far so we were gonna leave! I had a beer (barely took a sip) I asked to pay so I could leave! They held my card and said they were bringing my food out! I was like... “I don’t want it I’m leaving”. They magically manifested the remote and changed the channel to the game! So we sat down and was ignored the whole time! We couldn’t get refills on water! Then when about 20 minutes passed... The manager is by the bar making a fuss about the tv. She then walked over to us and my friend was like “you didn’t have to lie We were leaving but you changed the channel so we decided to stay”! The manager got frustrated and told the waitress “bring them their check” and proceeded to walk away and then told us they’re about to close. *Not to mention there is at least 10 other customers present! I was rushed off and I wasn’t even finished eating my food, and there was 18% gratuity added to our check! Lyne is the waitress name but I can’t remember the...

My friend and I were refused service today (8/7/22) at The Market by Food and Wine because we sat next to each other on the booth vs sitting across. We were told rudely by Leigeur that we could not take up two tables so we adjusted ourselves and our belongings so that we could both sit on the booth chair but still be at one table. The servers (Leigeur and Danielle?) both constantly walked past us and proceeded with other customers for at least 10 minutes. When I asked if someone was going to take care of us, Leigeur, again, rudely approached us and complained about our seating arrangements, although we were only seated at one table. I then requested a manager. Leigeur did not proceed with my request, but instead continued to seat other guest and take their orders. It was not until I got out my seat that Leigeur told me the manager was not there. I then asked his colleague, who advised me that the manager, Dustin, was indeed there but just on the other side. I explained the situation to Dustin who told me he would handle it but was extremely dismissive. At that point, my friend and I decided to leave and not give them business at all. We ate at Einstein Bagels instead. Overall, poor service and experience. Good service and great food at...
