Subway — Restaurant in Florissant

I went in today on march 28 2019 at 8:50 pm with my 2 kids a very hungry 6 year old son 13 year daughter to place a takeout order.There was a lady paying for a sandwich and only one gentleman having 2 sandwiches made in front of me in the line. There was 2 young girls behind the counter and one of them said to me. Im sorry sir we are closing because we are short staffed. I told them thank you and told my kids to lets go. Im very disappointed considering that the place doesn't close until 9:30 pm and they were not busy at all. I feel like we got refused service because of other unknown reason. I have worked in the food industry before in management and this was unnaceptable. I felt very bad explaining to my kids that we were refused service. I just moved to this area and this is the closest location to me. I ordered food from this location over an hour ago. They have taken my money but have yet to update me on my order that still says its being made. Im extremely disappointed to see a restaurant taking customer money and then not providing any service or good. Update, it is now 5pm and I ordered at 1:19pm. I called the store multiple times, to have no one answer until literal minutes ago. I was by the subway worker that they can not cancel my order or refund my money, because a door dash driver took my order, so technically it’s fulfilled. I never received my food. I was running errands and stopped to get lunch. I live in Old Town Florissant. There were two ladies working. There were no other customers. One woman went into the back immediately upon my entry. The second lady was preparing a sandwich. She glared at me but never said anything. No hello. She didn't ask if I was ready to order or say just a minute my colleague will be right back. Eventually the other person came out and took my order. They honestly acted as if I was bothering them. Additionally when I ate my sandwich the tomatoes were soft and some of the toppings didn't seem fresh.
