Excellent! I had to pick up two orders of lemon chess squares, yo go, each to be cut into 24 squares. Sugar Magnolia Takery had them ready when I got there. Now if I can resist temptation and don't eat half of them before I have to take them to the event I have been invited to tomorrow. Hate to show up with a half a platter and one full one!!! LOL Added note The Lemon Chess Squares were a hit. Could have taken 3 platters because they were a favorite and surprised to find out they weren't homemade. Some guests stated the Lemon Chess Squares were better than what they made. Definitely will buying again, including for myself. While I am bragging on the food, let me throw in the service. I would stop by to pick up a dip they make. Best dip I've ever eaten, the Corn Salad Dip. I love this dip so much, hand me a spoon and I could eat it straight from the container it was purchased in!!! But the Corn Salad Dip makes the BEST side dish to complete any meal as a side dish. Because of this dip, I ended learning more about the products they had to offer, showing me how much the staff cared about their customers. The staff is not only knowledgeable, but sweet and friendly, wanting to help guide you in making the right decisions to meet your needs. Love this awesome staff!!! Can't emphasize in words how they work as a team to get the job done in a timely manner for their clientele. Doesn't matter if it's your first time to walk through their door or have been a long time customer. You don't see or received this kind of service from other places like one does from Sugar Magnolia Takery. For pick up, they get you in and out without a long wait. If there's a problem, they handle it in a professional, calm manner with NO drama. Fast and friendly services including quality services once you have an idea of what you are looking for. Table service is awesome. Excellent service...
Read moreI was in the area for a sports event for my son. Felt like some sweets and googled.
I made my way over to the Sugar Magnolia Takery. It was a tad intimidating walking in. Seemed like everyone there looked directly at me as soon as I hit the door. I wasn't greeted the best, basically a what do you want and a 'we don't do lunch on the weekends'. It was kind of off-putting, but the sweets looked amazing, so I continued to look around. Nobody really had a smile on their face, but I get it. Nobody wants to be at work on a Saturday, I guess. 😂
Now on to the GREAT part. The freaking sweets are the best I have ever had... and I've had way more than I should. I taste tested the brookie, the brownie with icing on top (omg the icing!), a lemon chess square, and a petit four. Those 4 were around 17 dollars. All amazing. I really can not say enough. On the way out, I saw a cooler of prepared food. Take and bake trays, but they also had prepared chicken salad, pimento cheese, and a few other savory items. I opted to try the chicken salad. It was around 15 dollars for the portion size shown in the attached photo. It was like unlike any I have ever had before. I tried to take a photo to show the shredded chicken inside it. It was a mix between peppery and sweet. My words will not do it justice. It had grapes in it with a mayo base! Again, fantastic! If you are not adventurous with your palate and like traditional chicken salad, this may not be for you. Lots of people were picking up King cakes. One patron was offered a piece to sample, I was not, so I can not give my review on it. Being from Louisiana, I would have had very high standards for a king cake, though, so it was probably for the best😄.
So, if you are passing through, this little shop is worth a stop. Just don't expect the...
Read moreAfter church today, my fiancé and I decided to eat at sugar magnolia takery after seeing they offer brunch and breakfast on their website. When we arrived, the cashier told us they hadn’t done that for a year, which is fine. But it is still on their website. My fiancé ordered a burger and Petit four, while I asked for the half and half pimento cheese sandwich with a grandmothers garden side salad. When they brought out a full size salad, I immediately told the waitress, who had also been our cashier, that I had ordered a pimento cheese sandwich with a side salad. The waitress said okay and that she would be back with my sandwich. No big deal. The waitress comes back to our table, says that’ll be $9 because we gave you a full sized salad and we have to charge you for the sandwich now too... A little caught off guard, I say ok and fish my card out and pay for it. And then later she brings out an entire pimento cheese meal with a pickle and chicken salad, still getting my order wrong on the third try. And charging me for 2 separate meals, as if that is what I had ordered. She did knock a couple dollars off I guess to try to make it up to me, but overall I paid $40 for a burger with chips, a petit four and what was supposed to be a pimento cheese sandwich with a small side salad. Needless to say, I would not recommend pearls kitchen/ magnolia takery based on the poor customer service. I guess at least I have lunch boxed up already to take to work with...
