Hands down the best coffee on the island!!! A great coffee drink is so much more than a perfectly roasted bean. It needs finesse and attention as it’s made, not just a wand plopped into a cup until scalded milk sloshes over the side. These people deliver perfection in a cup. Perfectly crafted cappuccino that was smooth and delicious and the perfect strength of espresso! Iced lattes are equally amazing! So delicious! Literally the only drawback to this place is the limited hours! Do not miss it! Otherwise you are stuck with what is open and available and you may or may not be able to finish what you get. The food is equally amazing! We tried both the açaí bowl and the avocado toast and both were phenomenal! I have quit trying açaí bowls outside of my favorite place in NYC, but I got brave enough to try again and ooed and ahhed over every bite! Thanks guys! And thank you especially for letting us buy iced lattes when you were closed down and ready to leave because you saw how disappointed we were! You...
Read moreOK, this place is awesome. We sampled a few coffee houses during our stay in Folly Beach and this by far was the best both in quality and value. The cold brew was delicious, fruit forward and with well balanced bitterness. And while the coffee is worth plenty of discussion, their eats are just as inspiring.
We chose the acai bowl and avocado toast for our breakfast. The bowl was moderately sized with a robust assortment of granola, coconut, banana, and berries that hit just as good as any acai I've had. The toast, however, definitely stole the show. Just the look of it grabbed your eye with the beet tahini popping alongside the avocado and herbs. The bread was a hearty seeded wheat that held up the hefty portions perfectly. I loved this thing! It tasted so fresh and had a great variety of textures. In a world that is overcome with avocado toast varieties, this rendition sticks out.
Cannot recommend Dead Low enough and the location right next to the beach cannot be beat. We'll...
Read moreWe stopped by Dead Low Café as our first stop before hitting the beach, and it turned out to be a cozy little gem. The food was solid across the board, but the standout for most of us, was the avocado sandwich with beets; fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly satisfying. I had the chia pudding, which I really enjoyed. It had a nice balance of fruit and granola, though a touch more of each would’ve taken it to the next level.
My son went for the BEC sandwich and gave it a big thumbs up. One friend tried the matcha latte but wasn’t too impressed…it seemed to be missing that bold, earthy matcha kick. Another friend had the salmon bagel and liked it, so overall, we had a good mix of hits.
Thankfully, there was no long line when we arrived, which made the experience even better. The space itself is small and intimate, with just a couple of tables tucked in the back and a few more out front. It’s the kind of spot that feels laid-back and local, perfect for a quick bite before...
