This is my fourth season visiting Folly Beach with my fiancé and our first time renting mopeds here. It was a total game-changer, & I can’t recommend it enough; it totally elevated the vacation. We were sad to have to return the mopeds! The whole experience was seamless and easy & the guys who own/run the shop are great. The mopeds scooter style, so your feet are in front of you & you have storage under the seat. I was still able to rock my skirts without issue. Helmets & instruction are supplied. I think they max out at 30 mph, they are easy to park, you don’t need another license for them and the pricing was super. For those who are apprehensive, just remember, you’re really going to stick to island roads where the speed limit is 25 anyway. This is easier than riding a bike. Mopeds are super fun and give a much needed breeze on a warm (or hot!) day. They also have trikes if you’re nervous about balance (though I don’t think you should be). We will definitely be back! For Spring break, I went to Folly Beach with 40 other people on a charter bus. After we were dropped off in the area, I wanted to get around the beach but my feet were hurting too much to walk everywhere I wanted to go. My friend and I rented the coupe car and we LOVED it!! We got to do everything on our list and had so much fun. We were hesitant at first because we thought there would be a lot of time-consuming paperwork or that it would be too hard for us to drive. But, it was so easy to sign up and drive, we (two college girls) were on the road in 5 minutes! All you need is your valid drivers license! I highly recommend renting from here if you are needing transportation around the area or even if you are looking to add a little extra thrill to your time at Folly! This was the most fun part about our vacation! The gentleman at the front desk was so nice and was great at explaining how to ride the mopeds! The owner couldn’t have been more kind. The moped ride was so fun! We loved driving around folly beach, seeing all the restaurants and nice houses. We were smiling the whole time. We got two hours and it went so quick because we had so much fun. Definitely doing it again next year when we return. You have to make this a part of your Charleston trip!
