Today my friends and i were exhausted after a very long day at the beach. The night was relatively young and we all agreed that it was time for dinner. To our surprise on what was once a wonderful Tuesday The Washout was closed so we decided to stop by The Bounty Bar because we figured it would have been a nice dinner to go to as an alternative. We got sat down and we wrote a list of the food that we were going to get and had the Bartender send our order to the back. At the time the bar was not busy as there was about 4-5 tables some with and without food and a couple people sitting at the bar which one of them being a worker! We waited for 30 minutes with zero check ups and after 50 minutes of waiting with just the drinks we got and no refills we finally see the table in front of us get their food. After an hour and thirty minutes we finally got our food after waiting on a Tuesday night. As we were getting our food my friend asked the waiter about his nachos that he ordered, lo and behold they forgot to put in his nachos after waiting all night for food so he had to pick off of our plates instead of getting his own meal. The wings, philly, fries and pulled pork were all equally mediocre in their own ways. We will say that the blackened chicken was very good though, compliments to the chefs! Normally i don’t write reviews on a bad experience at a restaurant but this one in particular was excruciatingly long, disappointing and unacceptable. There are several things that can be fixed to make the experience better but i guess they will see in due time. We will never be coming back here unless we have a few hours to kill and we want to starve. Would not recommend 2/10.

Pam and I had just taken a one-hour walk on Folly Beach where the gods had conspired with gentle breezes, a bright blue sky, and friendly folks to convince us that there was no way it could possibly get any better. But once off the beach and spotting a new Folly establishment called The Bounty Bar, we were to find out how wrong we were to set our expectations so low. The front door beckoned us to come on in. As I opened the door, the first thing that hit me was a bombardment of colorful lights, tastefully put in a context of a flat black background. It took a bit for my pupils to adjust from being out in the bright sun, but as they did I immediately felt the friendliness and informality of this ā€œeveryone-knows-your-nameā€ place. I have to say I was impressed that an establishment that had just opened recently seemed to be running like a well-oiled machine. We ordered ice tea, the fried fish sandwich, the gator po' boy, some fries, and a salad which was brought to us on the front porch section where we could take in the ā€œpassing paradeā€ of humanity enjoying their visit to this funky beach town. Both the fried fish and gator were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fries were top-notch and the delicious ice tea hit the spot. I guess the only change that I might have made was to have ordered one of their many choices of beer or the renowned frozen rum punch to more closely complement the delicious lunch we had. That will have to happen next time. :) Thank you, Bounty Bar. We will be returning! Jim

Called into The Bounty Bar on our final evening in Folly. Next time we come to Folly we will make sure to visit again. Kinda dark inside with a dive-bar vibe - in a good way! Loved the decor, friendly and fast service, good range on food and drink menus - even catering for your dog! It was quiet at the time we visited (August - 2 days after the kids finished their summer break) and pretty early evening, but there was still had a good atmosphere with music which was at a loudish but comfortable volume. We had a burger and Philly cheese steak both with sides of fries. Portions were huge, food was super hot and tasty. Choose your own table on arrival and order food at the bar. We rated 4 out of five for the food based on that it was very good, we would definitely eat there again and would recommend, but there was nothing different, surprising or stand-out amazing about it to rate a top five out of five.

Chelsea thank you for your response but I have no reason to speak with you! I don’t need your validation either! Ask your one black worker what he asked me about being mixed! Ask your one black worker on him asking me if I was from there as if I should know. Ask your one black worker how he told me I have to be better than those white guys! Also the bartender behind the bar apologized to us?! How come?? (Rhetorical) I don’t need your number or email but thank you for proving my point. An I’ll make sure my South Carolina brothers and sister and visitors know who you are!(in my opinion) Thank you!

Unfortunately this is the most racist establishment that I have ever been to. I had a guy come to me and make fun and make joke with his friends to me. I finally stood up to ask what was goin on. Then the security came to me as if I was the problem and tell me I should know how they(white people act) and I should be better then asked me to leave with that person staying! Idk how this is a good place for any person especially a person of color! I hope this place does not represent the people of folly beach but it looks like it does. And looks like the management has reviewed this and stood by the racism of their customers and...
