Under new ownership and Aloha reeks of cheap owners. While the teriyaki sauce and salad were tasty, the overall meal had a serious lack of value. At Blue Nami a Bento box with teriyaki chicken (high quality white meat), miso soup, tempura and California roll is $12.95. At Aloha the same thing is $12.95 BUT doesn't include a California roll ($3 more) or miso soup, plus they use cheap nasty dark meat chicken, clinging together with little pieces of chicken fat. Yuck. Also it seems that ownership is too cheap to use air conditioning so its warm inside with ceiling fans blasting on high (and clicking away loudly), which does nothing to create a relaxing atmosphere. I left hungry and annoyed and won't be back. In fact, even seeing most of my lunch uneaten, nobody bothered to ask if something was wrong or if I wanted a box, they just gave me the full price bill and walked away. Perhaps uneaten meals are the norm now? I WAS the only person in the restaurant the whole time I was there.
Plus the linked Locu menu (on desktop version of Google maps) is from the old, less cheap owners, and shows the Bento boxes actually containing all of the elements that they SHOULD contain at the $12.95 price. When I arrived expecting this menu to be accurate and raised concerns when the restaurant menu was different, I was told "that was from the old owners, these are the prices now" Good way to treat a...
Read moreThis was our third time here at Aloha Sushi and I finally decided to leave a review. The restaurant decor and vibe was always pleasant. The third time I came with my friend and we sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chef Joe was very friendly and attentive. The sushi came out fresh and delicious. I like how my sushi didn’t come out wet with sauces like other sushi places.
I gave this restaurant a 4 star because our server girl, was inattentive. Often times we would see her and other 2 servers chit chatting and laughing very loudly at the back. I had to ask for a refill on my drink directly from the sushi chef Joe. By then he would have to tell our server girl to come serve us. Every time we came, I would always see the server girls slack off and socialize at the back. I suggest more training for the servers please, a stricter one where it would let them know not to socialize about their weekends or day amongst each other and neglect their duties. It’s very unprofessional and quite rude. My friend and I conversation would get distracted by their loud laughs coming...
Read moreThis is the worst sushi my husband and I have EVER had! We ate here yesterday and ended up leaving the restaurant hungry because everything was absolutely disgusting. Even the edimame was foul. 🤢🤢
We watched a young man put a giant bowl of rice right onto the trash can to mix it, then leave the rice right on top of the trash can. This is the rice used to make the sushi. Then, the man behind the sushi bar (I assume to be the owner) has his food making gloves on. We watched him tough the garbage, touch the receipt machine and a receipt, wipe the counter with a towel and then use that same gloved hand to grab one of the pieces of raw fish that had been sitting next in a giant Tupperware on his back counter with no cover the entire time.
The place smells like vinegar and their rolls tasted like sour mayonnaise and we’re actually really concerned that we’re going to get food poisoning hitting us really soon.
How this place is still in business is beyond me. Absolutely doesn’t even...
