Although I did enjoy this game for the time I have played it, I have concluded that this Resident Evil 3 remake is not worth the price it is currently. Unlike this game's predecessor, Resident Evil 2 Remake, there is absolutely no other content factor to be experienced after completing the main game, due to the fact that the story is the only playable experience.
Starting off, I'd like to say that I do believe Capcom knows how to optimize a game without making it broken whilst maintaining the good graphics of the RE engine. I played this on a Dell Inspiron laptop, and just like Village and RE2, the game still looked amazing. I was able to play at 1080p with most settings turned to medium, but later on went down to 720p for better framerate. So on that note, the game manages to be perfectly optimized and playable, while being graphically pleasing.
That being said, the way the levels are produced without a sense of backtracking makes the game feel way too linear compared to the games prior to RE3's release. The linearity is akin to that of a COD campaign with that one or two missions that make you go,"That was kinda cool!" and then proceed to stick to the same play style as you continue. The only things that do tend to stand out are the boss fights, which are actually pretty fun. However, they fail to replace to series's staple of puzzle solving (which is absolutely absent in this game, apart from a segment where you align a subway), and thrilling levels pertaining to each game. In RE2 Remake, you had the orphanage and Ada Wong segment; in Village, you had dollhouse. This game has so much potential to be a good, open-area type game. The material is there for a burning city that you have to navigate through in order to survive and escape. Unfortunately, the finished product seems to be rushed instead of managing to deliver a creative and intricate experience that makes want to play it again.
There is also the whole argument that the game also fails to stay true to the original RE3, however I did not play the original game, so it is not in my place to say. I would also like to add that you get this game in the Raccoon City Bundle ON SALE like I did if you don't currently own RE2 Remake. It feels more like a DLC than a standalone game, which felt fitting for being in a bundle.
Overall, you might be wondering why I've pulled an IGN and recommended this game. Well there's a cool Shrek mod...
Read moreVery cute little shop. I love the vibe, but it's so small, you can't really stay to enjoy it. My first time in a Bober. I had no idea that I had to order on a screen. It was a little jarring. I prefer human interaction to a computer. I really didn't know what to order and wished I had someone to ask for a recommendation. I go to other tea shops and have tried a jasmine milk tea at every one of them so I went with what I know. I went with normal 100% sweetness and this cheese cream. Never heard of it so I thought to try it. It was almost too sweet. My friend got the matcha milk tea. She let me try it, but again it was too sweet. Super cute cups though. The donuts were delicious! Tried the matcha and the horchata flavors. We liked both donuts. We'll come back, but definitely try...
