Let me start off by saying that I'm not a picky eater or a difficult person to please. This is the first time that I've gone to a restaurant and wanted to leave mid meal.
My husband and I went here on our vacation. I read reviews on multiple restaurants in the Fort Bragg area and decided on this one because of it's consistently higher ratings. I don't know what any of the other reviewers are talking about though because this restaurant is terrible.
We came into the restaurant around 6 pm. Our table was set nicely and we were brought our bread. I ordered a grilled Washington oyster and cheese ravioli. My husband ordered the marinara manicotti. The oyster I recieved was drowned in some type of vinegar so much so that it was difficult to swallow. It didn't taste anything like an oyster at all. It tasted more like I had just taken a straight shot of vinegar. When I told my waitress that I didn't like the oyster she blamed it on me saying that I just didn't know what grilled oysters are suppose to taste like. I grew up eating grilled oysters on the Washington coast no less and know that an oyster definitely isn't suppose to taste like whatever that was that she gave me. We were then given our entrees. My ravioli tasted overwhelmingly like garlic and there was so much spinach in my ravioli that I felt I was eating more of a salad than a pasta dish. My husband's manicotti was pretty much just a big bowl of luke warm ricotta cheese. The manicotti pasta was so over cooked that it was just mush and there was very little to no marinara in the dish at all. My husband didn't even finish it, it was so bad. The highlight of the food was probably the bread which is a bummer because the food was so EXTREMELY over priced. $18 for ravioli? $25 for fettuccine with a few shrimp tossed in? RIDICULOUS! I could make this food for a fraction of the price in my own home and it would taste better!
Our waitress paid very little attention to us. She spent most of the time talking to the group of people at the table next to us about anything and everything. The hostess paid more attention to us than she did. It took her a really long time to bring us our bill as well. We had to ask the hostess for it and she had to go hunt the waitress down. It was as if she was completely ignoring our existence at the end.
Over all, don't waste your time on this restaurant. It's not worth anyone's time nor money. If I could give this place a 0 I would but I had to...
Read moreWe went for the brunch buffet on Sunday (7/21/24). The buffet is supposed to run until 2 pm. When we were seated, we weren't warned there was any sort of time constraint. We were there around 40 minutes, not even that long, and there were nothing but empty tables all around us. We paid the check around 1pm (an hour before the buffet closes) but we were still finishing our coffee when we paid.
A rude guy (bigger build, dark hair, looked to be in his 20's) who hadn't been serving us before (we had a nice waitress) brought our card back and told us to leave because they supposedly needed our table for a reservation when the entire place was empty. Again, we were NOT warned of any sort of time issue when we were seated, so this was beyond rude and unprofessional. Sadly, I think he was some sort of management, judging from the way he dressed and acted. My theory is that the staff wanted to close early, thus the obvious lie about a reservation. That's the only reason I can think of for such a bizarre incident anyway.
I wrote a review about this incident and posted it to Yelp. Within a few hours the owner (Joseph) left a comment basically accusing me of lying when he wasn’t even there. It now makes sense that his staff thinks they can get away with acting the way they do, he'll automatically side with them and call everyone else a liar, so they do whatever the heck they want. It's all shockingly unprofessional and honestly extremely weird.
We ate at several other places and shopped at several shops in Fort Bragg over the last few days. Everyone was sweet and welcoming. This is literally the only place there I would...

Walked through the doors and waited until we were approached by a young man who offered no greeting, just a number. Figuring they were probably just busy(though it didnt appear that way) we continued. We were seated and about 5 minutes later we were finally approached by an rude older man who we assumed would be our waiter....only to be told it would be 15-30 minutes before any food would be ready(still dont know why) we said we understand, no problem, we were visiting town so could we go across the street and look at the shop and come right back would they be ready to begin serving again? He said he wouldnt and we probably shouldn't. Naturally I asked how come and asked will the time just get longer? He said yes most likely. I responded to him with, " we could just order our drinks and wait?" then looked at my husband. I SWEAR THIS MAN WALKED AWAY FROM THE TABLE WHILE WE WERE ASKING HIM THIS!!! HE JUST WALKED AWAY! Needless to say, we left. I cannot say how the food is. Service was complete and total nonsense from the moment we walked in. This was on a sunday morning about 10am. On a holiday weekend. You would think this is the time, as a manager or owner you would have good people on shift. My husband and I work hard for the money we have and I can tell you with absolute certainty I am incredibly happy our money for brunch went to someone who deserved every penny. 10 minutes of time was already too high of a cost to be in this...
