I went here thinking it would be decent coffee. Thankfully they still had a few premade breakfast burritos left so I had one of those, and a large mocha latte. They heated the burrito and made the latte quickly. Its counter-order, table-delivery. The staff was pleasant and working quickly. However, the burrito was marginal; eggs cheese beans but there was no meat. I should have asked about this. The coffee was pretty bad, extremely weak. When I inquired how many shots are put into a 16oz latte, they told me “only one”. I said “no, that’s not right, it should be at least 2, maybe 3.” The response was (paraphrasing) basically “we make all our lattes with one shot no matter how big.” I replied, “that’s not the right way to make a latte,” and I was told again “that’s how we do it.” So I ordered and paid for two more shots which made my latte only slightly better. Surprisingly it was not very good flavorful coffee to begin with and it’s crazy they only use one shot for a 16oz latte, which means you get 10-12 oz of warm milk, and the froth disappears quickly. Also they are served in drink glasses, which is not a great way to serve a latte. I went around the corner to get a better latte somewhere else. I think this place has potential but needs to improve their barista style. Maybe their other food is better, I don’t know because I only had the...

Charming and delicious, but service mishap spoiled the experience This place is truly unique — full of charming details and a cozy, vibrant atmosphere. It’s visually interesting and feels warm and inviting. We came here for breakfast and loved the variety: sandwiches, pastries, soups, and a wide selection of drinks. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious — especially the sweets!

The downside was the service. We waited about 15 minutes for a table and stood in line to order — the place is very popular with both locals and tourists. We placed a fairly large order for two adults and two kids. While drinks and ready-made pastries arrived quickly, our main order never came.

After 20 minutes of waiting (assuming it was just a long prep time), we asked — and found out our order had been lost. The staff was polite and apologetic, but we were offered no gesture of goodwill — no discount, no complimentary item — just words. Unfortunately, we were on a tight schedule for a tour, and had to rush through hot soup in 7 minutes, which really affected the experience.

That said, I’d still recommend this place — the food is great, and the atmosphere is special. Just be prepared for long lines and possible delays. If you’re not in a rush, it’s a lovely spot to relax and enjoy something...

Went in to get coffee the way I like. This option is no longer available. They add the cream and sugar behind the counter. You no longer have the option of pouring your own coffee. The staff was nice as always but they were not my goal. My goal was coffee. To add insult to injury the coffee was tepid at most. Not only did I get a mediocre cup of coffee I left dumbfounded by the entire process. Having run restaurants and other small businesses I cannot see why they would want to increase their labor costs by having an employee perform the task a customer wants to do. A lot of customer time is spent getting the cream and sugar just right. Or making that perfered blend of different roasts. Now the owner has to pay for labor that will not benefit the customers experience. It can't be an issue of safety. The same employee who handles all the money then goes and handles all the coffee orders. This amplifies the amount of contact. I have purchased coffee from there since the 1980s. Just rolled in again and I won't be returning. It was a great establishment in its day. I am grateful...

First time in California from Miami, Fl for a training. I was looking everywhere on the coast for Cuban coffee for the ride back from Fort Braggs to Ukiah. I stopped at the Headlands Coffee house and from the moment I walked in I knew i would love this place. It was a Wednesday night and they had live chill music. I ordered a salad....excellent by the way...and sat next to an amazing smelling flower. Before i got back on the road I asked for a Cuban coffee. Juan the owner was really kind and tried to make something close to it. It was really good and appriciated him going above and beyond to make me feel at home. I spoke with all their employees for a while and they even gave me suggestions on what route to take back. Everyone I had a conversation with were all very nice. I really enjoyed my time there. The food was great and the service was spectacular!!! Needless to say that I made it back to Ukiah in less than 2 hrs and I didn't even blink once! Lol

We headed here for a quick morning coffee. The environment is cozy. Note that they only take cash! The waiter is friendly. However, when I ask them to put my coffee in a Togo cup, they refused to do it and said it’s because I am gonna be seating here. (I was with a friend but I know I am not eating there.) After my friend is done with his breakfast, I grabbed my untouched coffee and cookie to the counter to ask for Togo cup. I ordered a 12oz coffee, did not take a sip, and it was only 2/3 full of the 12oz cup. They said it’s because they wanna leave space for cream and sugar, when I clearly indicated during my order that I don’t need them. Even after asking them to top off, they didn’t add much water. I think it’s a little shady to give 2/3 of what I order using the excuse of cream and sugar.
