If you want Oregano’s in Fort Collins, I beg that you order to go. The service was beyond horrid. The food was top notch, but the service has made it to where I will never return. It took about 15 minutes after finishing our appetizer for the waitress to come back to take our meal order, and another half hour to get our meal. The waitress never checked on our table, didn’t bring our food or check, didn’t refill drinks, and didn’t bus the table as the night went on. We watched four tables be seated, have their order taken, and receive their food before our food came out. We watched a hostess literally throw menus on the table and walk away before the new customers even got to the table, and the people bringing out food would drop food and not pick it up (a few times kicking it under tables that had customers). We overheard the table next to us, with dietary restrictions, constantly send food and drinks back that were done incorrectly, to the point that they could not safely consume the items. We watched tables sit for 20 minutes after requesting a check, before actually receiving one. We watched a table get seated shortly after us, and despite how long it took us to get our food, they got their drinks minutes before our meal arrived. The whole thing screamed of poor management. Even with the amazing food, I will never come back, at least not to the Fort...
Read moreBlown away by first experience. We have lived here for many years, not sure what took us so long to try Oregano's. We will definitely be back. We haven't had good service like this in a long time. Christopher nailed it, he hit all the things most servers are too lazy to even ask. (Repeated order back, confirmed things came out alright, offered parm, kept a close eye on drinks, asked if we wanted dessert or needed boxes/a bag for our boxes/to-go cups for our teas...like I said all the things.) I waited tables years ago, I know that's dedication. A pat on the back to their training program. Chris managed to keep my husband's drink full, which no one ever does because he sucks liquid down faster than anyone I know. He is also the fastest eater I know. Chris came back to check on us before my husband finished eating which also rarely happens. Food was delicious. The only food critique, my husband wished there was less cheese and more marinara on his meatball sub. HUGE portions! Cute, cozy decor. My first thought was we should bring our families here when they visit. My only other critique would be music is a little loud, which would be hard for us personally, as we have parents that are hard of hearing. Overall, fantastic experience....
Read moreI will admit that I went in around 8:20 on a Thursday and they close at 9. First mistake.
When I asked for a table instead of a booth the lady behind the counter seemed put out and annoyed. 😑
I have been dying to try this place because I smelled the food once and it smelled soooo good. We try to venture out and try new places and this was our pick this evening.
We ordered lasagna and the big beef sandwich.
The lasagna is made fresh to order which is a plus!! It’s decent, but seriously I was expecting change your life lasagna!!! The beef sandwich is horrible. It smelled weird and it tasted like gamey. It was unflavored and kinda cold and wild tasting. It’s honestly the worst sandwich I’ve ever had. I’m disappointed.
The service was mid. She was probably just ready to get off. We did leave at 8:59, so we could get out of the way. She wasn’t bad or anything, but we sat there for 25 minutes before our food came and she never checked on us. She made up for it when she brought the food and gave us a drink to go or I wouldn’t have even given her 3/5.
Overall I would not recommend. We split and boxed up our food and I think you can tell from the picture my review...
