Papa Murphy's is pretty consistently Papa Murphy's-- "cheap pizza Tuesday", as my home calls it, is something we look forward to about once a month. I developed a pretty severe lactose intolerance as an adult and haven't been able to indulge in pizza-- of the "cheap Tuesday" sort, or otherwise. My mom had an idea yesterday to purchase our own "fozzarella" and add it to a pizza, sans cheese, prior to baking it at home. When we went into the store, we asked for no cheese and then, out of curiosity and convenience, asked if the team there would be willing to add the fake cheese as if it were normal mozzarella during the pizza producing process.
The gentleman I asked (he was wearing a mask or else I could describe and thank him better; he did have a CO forearm tattoo), had no problem accommodating my request, despite the line out the door-- he even made sure to tend to the pizza himself so as to ensure no confusion was made.
This wasn't anything extraordinary-- but it was greatly appreciated and the superb customer service was noticed. I don't plan on making this a regular thing because I know it's not the most convenient, but it's nice to know this kind of service is still out there. Thank you, Papa Murphy's, "cheap pizza Tuesday", and awesome dude with forearm tattoo, for being so accommodating-- I CAN HAVE...
Read moreWell Papa you threw one by me. Savor the flavor, because it sure as hell won't happen again.
One star rating for the ordering process. The pizzas are tasty and the staff here are friendly & hard working.
If you've read this far I'll entice you to read a bit further.
So I offered to pick up pizza on the way home and asked family to place the order. My subpar hand eye coordination and delayed response times = no ordering while driving for me. And oh, yeah, it's illegal & stupid to text and drive (you'd never guess it while driving around in CO...more Coloradoans text & drive than speed...and everyone in CO speeds).
Arrived at Papas to discover a 15% tip on the order. Huh.
Got to car and called family. I'm told they did not add a tip. After all, this is counter-service and take home and bake yourself, can't fathom how a tip makes sense here. The staff aren't paid measly $2.13 server wages (sure they're not making bank, but most of us don't get tipped for doing our jobs, yes even tough jobs outside service/hospitality).
Back home went through a mock online order. Papa Murphy's adds a 15% tip by default. Other suggestions are 20% and 25% (WTH?!!). If you're paying close attention you can remove it, but if you're moving fast you'll be tipping them for I don't know...
Read moreVery disappointing customer service. After buying pizza from these guys for years, we were rewarded with treatment from the the Store Manager (Garrett - son of the owners) of a carefree attitude of losing a customer for life. We like using their coupons online and tonight my wife accidentally left the coupon page we printed at home. She was told by Garrett that unless we have the coupon, that we would be charged normal price. He suggested we drive home to get the coupon and come back. Amazingly, we drive past 3-4 other pizzeria's to frequent Papa Murphy's, needless to say from this day forward, we'll save some gas to order pizza from other businesses that are more accommodating. For the sake of a few dollars, these guys have lost a customer for life. Especially in this day and age where everything is digital, Garrett proceeded to tell me that they have no way of tracking coupons without a paper coupon. I hope this review will motivate you a little more in understanding the long term value of 1 customer and the negative impact poor customer service, no matter small, can have on...
