Read moreI don't feel great leaving a negative review of Snooze. Our family has always enjoyed it in the past, it's fun, friendly and tasty. But today we went to celebrate my son's birthday, and we were all enjoying our pre-pancake and coffee, but when my dish came it was bad, as in spoiled. When I told the waiter he was nice, that they'd re-make it, and I said that they shouldn't because my shrimp and grits didn't just taste bad, but that the shrimp was completely rancid and they shouldn't serve it to anyone. My first bite I thought was just gross, but the second it was clear it was seafood gone south. He went to the kitchen, then came back apologizing with the manager in tow, confirming that they were "so sorry" and the cooks in the back were "in big trouble for trusting a date, and not by the smell" and that "they were so sorry." They said "they wouldn't charge me of course" and that they'd remake it with the "fresh batch" (why didn't they serve the fresh in the first place?) but I was so grossed out, I said I didn't think I'd still eat shrimp and at that point my party of people were almost done eating. Then the waiter tells me they've made it already and will box it up, (the food came straight home into the trash.) Then they bring the bill, $93 + tip for our group, which was my treat because it was a birthday, and I left hungry, hoping I wouldn't get sick, but then spent the afternoon and evening with digestive issues and I still feel ill. I feel like this was poorly played by the manager, and it's bothering me still. Food poisoning is dangerous. Rotten shellfish is dangerous. I hope no one else ate it today. Sending me away with the same food and hungry was just... not a solution. My kids and husband love this place, but I think it will take some convincing to get me to go for quite a while. Again, I really hate to leave a negative review, especially about a place I've always...
Read moreI would really love to give this place a 5 after all of the rave reviews. Today was my first time here and my mom recommended it for our usual Sunday brunch along with 3 other family members. I was excited because this restaurant has been all the rage. However, my experience was really not all the rage.
We showed up and were given an hour wait time. Which is fine, that sounds normal for every Fort Collins restaurant on a Sunday. I enjoyed the Bloody Mary that they had to offer at the very least, but I'd say the ones at Silver Grill are comparable.
Once we were seated, coffee came out quick and the server. The meal came out relatively fast... but a lot of things were wrong. The eggs were undercooked, items were missing and my meal was made incorrectly. I waited about 15 minutes for the server to come back to check on us. I told her I had wanted a flour tortilla for the huevos rancheros I ordered, and she took my meal to the back to have it re-made.. which wasn't really what I wanted and I'd have been fine with her just bringing a flour tortilla out.. She didn't really ask.. she just took it and said she'd be back later.
By the time it came out everyone else at the table was done eating. So I basically sat and waited another 20 minutes for it. I ended up bringing the entire thing home in a to-go box. The manager did come by at some point which is embarrassing, as we rarely find reasons to complain at restaurants and hate that kind of attention.
She comped my menu item, and the other incorrect items which was nice of her... but I don't think it's enough for me to want to recommend this restaurant to anyone or really want to return.
I'd come back for a cocktail but definitely not to eat.
Edited to 5 because they were reasonable when I...
