The sandwiches here are really tasty. I continue to eat here because the food is good. Itās pricey but I always feel the price is worth the quality of the food they have. However, thereās other things that make it hard to want to go back. My most recent visit though stung me: I get dirty looks when I try to apply my points because they never do it at the beginning and my order gets messed up a lot for some reason.
Recently when I was in I asked to use my points right before I paid and it caused the cashier to get confused and start sweating uncomfortably. He told me itās attached to my credit card, but I normally pay in cash. Oddly enough this happened at the other location a couple times too. I asked if thereās a simple way to apply my points and they said ānoā and had to request manager help. Evidently I need to download apps and maintain a primary form of payment on file to my sandwich shop if I plan to use my reward points. It seems strange to hype a points program that your employees donāt know how to utilize, but also one that they wonāt apply to your order from the start. One that they basically make you feel weird for trying to use. Why not begin the ordering process by asking the customer if theyāre a rewards member? Also, donāt start your tipping prompt at 25%. Thatās rude. Youāre not waiting tables or spending any extra time with customers. Then I get home and my sandwich has the wrong bread. But didnāt I just tip you 25% for the hard effort you put in making my sandwich and handing it to me? Did the confusion over the points program cause them to miss my bread choice? Oddly enough again, not the first time itās happened. But I keep going back, the sandwiches are just good. Even if it is extremely taxing to get said sandwich. After this one though, I may just start making my sandwiches at home. Effectively, I paid almost $30 for a sandwich that was incorrect, small bag of chips, drink, and cookie and no chance of using my earned points. $30 is alot of money only to get home and be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReview spoiler alert: WOW I never ate such a good sandwich.
I just visited the newly opened (as of 10/29/21) Yampa Sandwich Co location on S College. This will be their 6th store location.
It can be a little hard to find (just south of 3 Margaritas) but it is in a nice retail area next to a well manicured lawn area where they have cornhole set up.
The owners, manager, and staff were super friendly and excited about the opening, with a raffle wheel and other tchotchke items (bottle opener, coozy, pen).
The menu has signature and custom hot/cold sandwiches as well as build your own salads. The ingredients are healthy and fresh. I really like that they minimize their waste by using deli paper, reusable aluminum trays, and paper based togo clam-shells.
So many menu items called to me but I ordered the hot pressed Cuban sandwich. I took it to go. The clam shell container let the hot sandwich vent so it didnāt get soggy after the 10 min car ride. It was still warm when I got home. The sandwich looks beautiful first of all. My first bite was a total surprise. The bread was lightly crunch on the outside but the inner parts of the bread were warm and tender soft (my bread-connoisseur wife said, āitās the best breadā). The flavor balance was on point, and you can taste all the key ingredients: smoked ham, chopped pickles, cherry pepper relish, melty Swiss cheese, and that schmear of mustard. This is the best sandwich I didnāt make. Frankly, Iām not sure I could make this sandwich as well. Even their pickle spear was better than most places.
I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place! Itās very clean, with great food, and...

From the moment we stepped into Yampa Sandwich Company on S. College, we were met with an atmosphere of warmth and professionalism that made our visit truly exceptional. The team here knows how to craft delicious, fresh, and hot sandwiches and soups that satisfy both the stomach and the soul.
A HUGE shoutout to Roy, the incredible cashier, whose knowledge of the menu was second to none. He patiently answered all our questions about the soups of the day and even offered us a taste test to help us decide which one best suited our palate, a level of service that is rare to find these days! But Royās kindness didnāt stop there. His professionalism and respect shone through when he thoughtfully asked if the music was too loud for our dining party and service dog, and without hesitation, he turned it down a notch. Roy, you are a gem!
The cooking staff and manager also deserve immense praise for their dedication to quality and service. Every bite of our meal was a testament to their hard work and passion for great food. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting, with spectacularly maintained bathrooms, a detail that speaks volumes about their commitment to customer comfort. While the floors could use a quick sweep, it hardly detracted from the overall experience.
This resturant and team deserves a 10000/10 rating, an absolute must visit! Keep up the amazing work, gentlemen. Weāll...
