La Luz Mexican Grill-Order Online-Catering-Breakfast Burritos — Restaurant in Fort Collins

Was in here for a couple breakfast burritos today (8/30) with my son. Was looking at the menu on the wall when a persistent man prompted me to come to the register. However, I wasn’t quite ready since it’s been a few years since I’ve been to this particular restaurant. I was curious on what a breakfast burrito cost. That being said, he continue to be persistent. Upon walking to the counter, I ordered two breakfast burritos. We had a couple special instructions so he made some key motions on a computer screen. he then told me a total Almost $30 for two breakfast burritos. No sides, no drinks, just two simple breakfast burritos. I assumed that inflation had just gotten me once more.

I paid the tab With cash, And tipped The clerk at the register. Sort of baffled, I walked away, wondering what just happened. Did I order two burritos? Each? Did I order the wrong thing? I then looked for a receipt and realized that the clerk never gave me a receipt. I patiently got back in line so I could discuss the transaction further. While watching the person in front of me complete their transaction, it was very different. She was provided multiple receipts. This was odd to me. Being in the restaurant industry management at an earlier stage in life this is typically a red flag. When cash is used at a small facility such as this, it is very easy to just pocket the cash, make the food, and steal money from ownership. Personally, this is what I feel I had experienced.

Getting back to the actual issue. I confronted the gentleman and asked for a receipt. He gave me a receipt which is when I realized I was charged almost $30 for two breakfast burritos. Even though the menu clearly stated a price at seven dollars per burrito. I asked him why I was charged so much and he said that he had charged me for some extra large burrito thing. I then walked him over to the menu and showed him the burrito that I attempted to order. He insisted multiple times that that item did not exist. However, I have confirmed it did exist.

I truly feel that this clerk not only gave me poor service, but is stealing from ownership, all while overcharging a single dad trying to take his kid out for a burrito. They absolutely attempted to take money for a transaction without entering it into the point of sales system. I gave the clerk multiple opportunities to correct the situation however I am still displeased. The clerk showed no accountability and did not try to rectify the situation. I am still paying for one of the most expensive and Poorly made breakfast burritos I have ever...

5* Food & Service! I dropped by La Luz today to try their breakfast burritos and all I can say is WOW! Stella, who took my order, was incredibly helpful & explained that there’s a difference between the weekday & weekend breakfast burritos. The weekend burritos are much larger, and she wasn’t kidding! When I got home and opened my container, I was thrilled and impressed by how big it was! 👀 They even added both the green and red chili (“Christmas”) as requested, and this beauty was FILLED with a DELICIOUS combo of eggs, meat, potatoes, & cheese, and topped with my two sauces, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, & onions. It had flavor, I could identify all the ingredients, and it was NOT greasy. Great value some will eat it in one sitting, but this will make two meals for me. I also asked Stella what she recommends from the rest of the all day menu, and while she said that she likes everything, she was also kind enough to point out a few of her favorites. Some examples were their birra tacos & almost every breakfast item. And wait until you see their salsa bar~ what a fantastic variety from mild to very hot. IF I COULD GIVE A -100000 star review I would. I never write reviews but this time it is needed because of how horrible I was treated. This guy in the picture was extremely rude to me and quite frankly I did not appreciate the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I am a door dasher and I was simply picking up an order when he started making accusations against me trying to say I was waiting longer than I was and started screaming at me. He threw the food at me and threw the rest of the order at me. I just got the order and was simply waiting until it said It was time to pick up. I wasn’t even eating here and I WILL NEVER COME HERE TO EAT after the audacity this guy had and how absolutely horrible and disrespectful he was. I would never hire someone like that. I was blown away with how awful he truly was. He said I was waiting for 20-30 min when the order said it was done at 11:22 and I got inside at 11:23. This guy must of been having a bad day because he took all his anger and frustration out on me. I can go on and on on how horrible he was but I think I made my points. FIRE THIS GUY because he is hurting your business. I am disgusted...
