Apothecary 330 - A Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

I used to be a frequent customer of Apothecary primarily due to the amazing service and top notch bartenders/ cocktails. We recommended it quite a bit. My last visit right before the Covid shutdowns was quite lacking but we finally attempted to revive the old favorite to truly disastrous results. NEVER AGAIN!!! STAY AWAY!!!

TLDR: the establishment is staffed with truly the worst service staff/ manager of all time and likely just discriminatory.

We were in the area and came in around 10pm with a party of 5, 3 of who had never visited the restaurant before. It was quite busy so we found some space at the end of the bar and patiently waited to order while also scoping out for an empty table. As the bartender approached us after about 10minutes of arriving, part of our party was grabbing the just emptied table behind us, nothing was noticeably amiss. As soon as she saw us she freaked out, said she couldn't serve us because our party had vomited on the floor (what!?!?!) and immediately turned and refused to talk to us. You can imagine our extreme confusion after only being there for 10 minutes and no one in the party having been there in over 2 years and definitely no one having every vomited in this (or any) restaurant. We tried to follow up but she refused to speak to us. Understandably we asked for the manager to try and clarify what the heck was going on.

The supposed manager came out and that's when things got even weirder, he just insisted he trusted his bartender (ok great, but can someone clarify what is actually even happening?). He became extremely belligerent, screaming at us as customers looked at the scene extremely confused.

Finally, it escalated to the point that someone else (who claimed to be an owner, but maybe a chef?) emerged from the back because the manager was making such a scene. We actually asked if there were cameras so they could show us the issue, which was refused.

At this point we had no intention of staying or ever returning but at least wanted an apology.

We had moved outside and a nearby cop actually came over to see the issue. He sent away the "owner" and told us basically look, this place had a history of issues, they could discriminate as they see fit since it's a private business and make up any story they want and unfortunately, he couldn't help but suggested we leave social reviews and file with the BBB... so here are.

It breaks my heart to subtract a star because the drinks are sensational and the food is delicious. What I’ve noticed is that each time we eat here we LOVE something! That said the food is inconsistent. I have made the sweeping statement that the chicken wings here are the best I’ve ever had. The first time we came in they really were. The second time we realized we had to order them extra crispy. Still tasted amazing. The third time I brought in a larger party and the sauce on the wings was changed to much spicier version. This time the sauce looked like pudding. 🧐 who wants wings with thick cold sauce on them? Also, the amount of onions they put on the wings has decreased too. Check out the pictures and you let me know if you agree. That said, this was the first time we ordered the pizza craft salad and omg it’s amazing. Fresh fresh fresh. We sat at the bar and got great service for our drinks. Once our food came out no one asked if we enjoyed our meal until after the plates were taken away. I will definitely continue to come here. Especially for the salad and drinks. I will also continue to recommend this place to friends. The consistency is in the drinks. I’m posting this review so the restaurant can get the feedback. I love this restaurant and hope they can get the wings back to where they were. Love ya apothecary/...

We were in town for my bachelor party and after taking a pedal pub around Fort Lauderdale, the captain suggested we go to Apothecary 330 for drinks. We walked in and were immediately confronted by a server for having our souvenir cups in our hands. The cups only had ice remaining in them. One of our party stated that we had come from a pedal pub, they were empty except for ice, we would be fine using their glasses, and asked if there was a place we could dump the ice. The server told us it wasn't his job, and instructed us to leave, get rid of the cups, and then we could come back in. We left, went next door to Original Fat Cats, and dropped over $600 on drinks there. The pedal pub captain was likewise incredibly disappointed in the way that customers that she sent there were treated. Can't recommend this place, as my only experience was being kicked out by a rude server who apparently didn't care about letting business walk out the door.
