Due to covid, almost every student has been relocated from the library or a quiet atmosphere to study. I’ve been to circle house before and they have a incredible space for said atmosphere. Since the semester has started, I have consistently been going to circle house cause they have a specific space at the end corner of their shop where I can attend online lectures, and generally do college work for the semester. Most of the mornings of the week I would come and greet the staff and walk towards the end of the hallway to start my college schedule. At times during the week, the staff would do a routine sweep to clean tables and sometimes (depending on the staff) I would feel a presence as if they wanted me to pack up and leave, to clear their space. (Although not all staff were like this, one actually greeted me and asked if I needed anything but it only happened once). I should note that I had an altercation which I believe to be the morning shift manager in which he approached me in a very rude manner to a problem that could have been handled with clear communication and dropped after being handled. I want it to be very clear that I have never written a review for anything in my life. I don’t feel the need to express details of small matters but what changed my mind to this point is what the owner said to me today. He approached me and told me that I was driving his customers away due to the fact that I was studying in the corner space, all to lead to his main point to tell me that he needed his space for a meeting. I am completely appalled by the level of disrespect especially that I am a paying customer. If he simply needed the space, he could’ve just asked but instead made me feel obligated to give up the space. I would expect it more from the morning shift manager but not an owner to the shop that I enjoy coming to. The sense of professionalism in this place is extremely low and it starts from the top. I just want to add just in case the owner reads this, the quality of your product is not defined by the space you have but the general experience and product you serve so no, I am not the reason that your customers are driven away. People will wait long lines at a drive through coffee shop for just a glimpse of the experience they express. You and your shop have a lot to learn to achieve that quality. For those looking for a place to study or work, this is not the place, as you will feel...
Read moreCircle House Coffee is a new cafe from former NFL line backer Stephen Tulloch. Located in the up and coming Flagler Village of Fort Lauderdale, he created his new business to provide a place for the community to gather and to give back through charity. Stephen has teamed with Panther Coffee in Wynwood to provide the roast coffee. Together they have created a 6 ounce bag of coffee with his NFL #55 on it. Ten percent of sales goes to charity. There is a sign that says they are currently donating to Women in Distress. Stephen Tulloch has even written his own children's book to empower kids.
You can't miss this bright and cheerful building because it's covered on three sides in a colorful mural. Complimentary 15 minute parking is located in the rear of the building. You can sit inside or outside under the covered patio. Either area is inviting. Bring some friends to play with because there are games everywhere. If you feel like taking your order to go you don't even have to get out of your car because they have a drive through.
When you decide what you would like you place your order at the counter and they bring your food and drinks out to you. In addition to the typical coffee drinks they have some surprises like the ripple machine that can turn your photo into latte art. They also serve wine, Broski's Ciderworks ciders, and CBD infused slushies. If you are hungry they serve biscuit and bread sandwiches. If you have a sweet tooth you are in luck because they serve Fireman Derek's Pies from Wynwood which everyone knows are the best pies in the world. If that is not enough sugar they also have Mojo Donuts. It's like they took the greatest hits of food and drinks in South Florida and put them under one roof.
As soon as I saw Fireman Derek's Pies I knew I had to have a slice. I wanted the krack pie but unfortunately it was still frozen so I went with my second choice which was coconut custard. There really is no second best in Derek's pies because they are all outrageously good. A slice of pie is $6.50 which is probably what I paid for it in Wynwood. I paired my pie with a small cup of their super strong cappuccino ($4). The rich coffee with the super sweet pie was a combination made in heaven. I can totally see myself some evening relaxing in the patio area with a glass of wine. This is an alluring place to hang out and a welcome addition to the...
Read moreI’m honestly shocked that this place has such a high rating. For my taste this place should be at a 3 rating overall at best. I’m a local in the area and have always driven past circle house. We finally decided to try it especially after seeing the good reviews. We only went through the drive thru and ordered two coffees ( a horchata and toasted marshmallow) and an egg and bacon croissant. So we never saw the inside area. The patio area looked nice when we drove past. Anyways we order and get to the window and the guy working was extremely nice and friendly (honestly he was amazing, he said he started 4 weeks ago). Now here is where the downfall starts. Both coffees taste like water. They literally have no flavor what so ever. The egg and bacon croissant was cold and just didn’t taste good.
We had already pulled off but desperately needed coffee (we have a newborn) and we turned around and went through the drive thru again to see if one of the coffees could be remade and if we could swap out the croissant (eating cold egg tasted gross).
The manager (a woman with brown hair) comes to the window with an attitude and says this is how we make our horchata it’s with macadamia nut milk not rice milk. We felt totally dismissed. We were never told how the drink was made when we ordered it and we honestly felt like the drink had no flavor and didn’t taste anything like horchata. We couldn’t tell you what milk it was made with. Actually when we ordered the drink the person asked if regular milk was fine which we said yes. Again we saw reviews that said the horchata was the thing to order. It makes me wonder if those reviews were honest.
Anyways to make a long story short we really wanted to like this place to support a local cafe but unfortunately to pay $20 for two small mid coffees and a cold small croissant not worth it. If the manager was nicer we probably would have felt more inclined to come back but unfortunately she ruined the experience completely.
I forgot to take photos of all the items. I am including the one photo I took of the toasted marshmallow drink. The coffee looks better than it tastes. It was...
