If you are in Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) and looking for some good all-around food not far from the airport, I would recommend Joe's Cafe. Some of us had breakfast selections, and some had what you typically eat for lunch. There were four of us total. Based on my traveling companions' input, their meals were very good. My veggie omelet was very pretty, but had no salt. I'll excuse that and say because I asked for veggie, they assumed I wanted no salt either. I will return, though, just for a redo. When we first entered, right away, we were helped by a very nice gentleman who realized we were in the wrong line. He was very polite. His name is Reggie. You can tell he really enjoyed his work, and he made me feel comfortable to be there, watching how he cleaned. Our waitress was AWESOME. Her name was Amber. Awesome Amber, THANK YOU for your service! I also witnessed two other waitresses in action that really impressed me, Stephanie and Anne. I loved their interaction with those they were serving. Now, on a bad note, there was one waitress that really made me want to leave, but since she was not ours, I overlooked it. True, we all cough and sneeze. But I witnessed waitress "L" not only wipe and blow nose near food, but not wash her...
Read moreI experienced very kind servers, host and bussers while dining here and the patio atmosphere was lovely. The food, however, left quite a bit to be desired. I ordered an omelete with grits and bacon & mim. They used a very delicious bubbly. The bacon was also great but the rest was under seasoned and hard to eat. The omelette had huge pieces of tomato that were inedible and an overall taste of vinegar. The cheese in my omelette wasn't melted and had white growths on it. The grits were totally tasteless. I noticed many items were more expensive on the printed menu than shown online. The check out process was confusing as my server never returned to close the bill, you have to go back inside to pay. The bathroom was dirty and out of toilet paper. I was charged a 3% fee for using a card. For a single person paying over $40 for a subpar meal this place didn't leave the best of impressions. I did enjoy the kindness of the employees and the sunshine on the patio. I may come again to try some specials to cut down on the price. I hear the pancakes are good and may need to go that...
Read moreI'm going with a 3 star today but nothing today actually went wrong. I was greeted right away, sat immediately, ordered in just minutes, and food came out correctly and hot. My server was semi attentive, and seemed bothered or rushed with me. I'll add the booth was uncomfortable, sorry. The food itself was good, I ate 100%. The bacon was a little thin in my opinion. Eggs were good, but not great. I ordered the French Toast Deluxe and ordered a chocolate milk for brunch. My total ended up being $18.99 which felt was very pricey!! I order the same thing everywhere I go and generally it's ~$13-15, so for it to be $19 was a surprise. The menu is very very large!! Lots of choices, including Greek. Some options available for lite and fit or on the healthier side. That's a plus! The atmosphere was... A for effort. They have a lot of decorations up but I can't quite tell what their primary theme is. Lots of random things. Unfortunately I probably...
