We have been coming to Kelly's Landing for years every time we visit Florida which is twice yearly. The Lobsters are fresh and full of meat and that is difficult to accomplish unless your Lobster Buyers know how to pick Lobsters. Kelly's has that down to a science. Unfortunately in our most recent visit last week we were absolutely astonished at how rude the Management and Staff can be. My group of 4 was about to be seated at a Table for 4 by the window when a woman and her husband stood up from there table for two and parked themselves at our Table. We said "Thats our Table and we are being seated here". The Management didn't do anything but rudely informed us that we would have to wait another 30 minutes for a table when they clearly guided us to that table for four. Instead of informing the other couple that they had to move back to their table the staff treated us as though we were at fault. We were then seated adjacent to this Rude disgusting couple and the woman kept moving her chair and banging it into the back of my wifes seat deliberately. The she started screaming and yelling at us as though we were at fault when she was clearly the aggressor. Instead of Managment again asking her to STOP they told us to calm down. When we said we wanted to be moved away from them they told us that it was not possible. If we didn't like it we were free to leave!!! Can you imagine such despicable treatment as the hands of Restaurant Staff? If someone came at us with a Baseball Bat the Owner of this restaurant would ask the victim to leave!!! This is not the first review I have read about the rude and boorish treatment people have endured at the hands of Kelly's Manager and apparently the owner was even worse in how she handled our situation. My advice. Go to a Supermarket and have them steam a lobster for you or go to Christine Lees in Aventura at Gulfstream park. The staff know how to treat a customer and are deserving of your business. This place should be avoided...
Read moreHORRIBLE experience. So disappointed too because it was my birthday dinner. The lobster bomb only had 3 pieces of lobster in it after I was told it had more in that than the lobster roll. The lobster that was in there was completely over cooked and rubbery. We had 7 people with us and they only seated us at a 6 top with an extra chair at the last minute because they miscounted. We got there right when they opened hoping everything would me hot and fresh and it was mediocre. The prices are WAY over priced. We got a cheeseburger for a teenage girl and took one bite only to realize the meat was RAW. They kept trying to say we cook it medium style unless you say you want it well done but it was RAW! I eat medium rare steaks and know the difference. Then we expected a new burger to be brought but they took the one she bit off of and PUT IT BACK ON THE GRILL with the other food! Soooooooo unsanitary AND they STILL CHARGED ME FOR THE BURGER! The cheese was burnt because they put it back on the grill and the meat was rubbery. Just a total waste of money and time as I do not see how this place has such great reviews. The waitress was nice but could not remember anything we asked for. We had to ask for lemons THREE times. We had to ask for tartar twice and still didn’t even get it until they brought the to go boxes out. It was another person’s birthday in the restaurant and they brought out dessert and sang the happy birthday song to them, after THREE different people in our group told our waitress it was my birthday and still NOTHING. No song, no thanks for choosing us with your large group, no dessert, no happy birthday. Also, it is advertised as kid friendly and there isn’t even a changing table in the bathroom. We will not be going back ever again and I am really upset my birthday dinner and money was ruined by choosing this place to eat...
Read moreHoly moly! It is an extremely popular hole-in-the-wall New England-style eatery with cute names for delicious food. The Calamari were tasty, tender, and crispy. However, the dipping sauce left some room for improvement as it tasted as though it was heated and reheated many times. The Clam ‘Chowdah’ was flavorful, creamy and delicious. I wasn't in love with the Fried ‘Steamahs,’ but my partner loved them; maybe they're not my thing. The Lobster Rolls were reasonably priced and overflowing with tender, sweet lobster meat. The Boston Creme Pie was delicious, indulgent, and a perfect meal-ending sweet treat. Be warned. Be prepared. The parking can be tricky. The restaurant fills up remarkably fast. The wait can be long. And it's ALL worth it. Come early. We sat at the bar because it was available, and we didn't want to wait. If you can and don't mind, do it! Otherwise, you may have to wait, but please stop asking every server in the place every 30 seconds how long the wait will be because it's impossible for them to know. Be patient! Be human! Be nice! I heard way too many impatient, entitled, arrogant folks being impossibly difficult while waiting for a table because they had an overly inflated sense of self. It is a small restaurant; every seat is often taken, every table is usually occupied, everyone seated is eating, and there is a line outside waiting to get in. Use some common sense! Knock it off! Our server at the bar was terrific. She was friendly. She was fast. She was attentive. She got us in, seated, happily fed, and out....
