I have been going to this restaurant for 35 years. It’s been at least 15 years since I was there. The woman upfront was nice and sort of friendly. She seated us at a nice table with tablecloth and nice cutlery. The server was very friendly and helpful. She made our experience enjoyable. We all enjoyed the salad plate which included coleslaw, pickled cucumbers, and a salad. For appetizers, we got the sausage platter and potato latkes. The potato latkes really did not have any texture. They were flat and sort of bland. Not what I’m used to seeing. The sausage plate was nice. The bread was good. Three of us ordered Jaeger schnitzel which comes with spaetzle. The chicken was good. The gravy was also good. It was a generous portion. It came with a side of red cabbage. It was good, but not great. I remember it being much darker red, but the taste was good. The spaetzle looks like spaghetti. It was not at all how it should have looked or tasted. There was no butter sauce or any type of flavor. That was very disappointing. We all looked forward to having apple strudel, but there was none ready for us to order which was a huge disappointment and so we left without dessert. I did some research and found out this restaurant had changed owners at some point since I was there last. It is still a nice restaurant, but does not have the environment that we are used to. Normally on a Thursday night that restaurant would have been full of people And even a reservation would have been challenging. There was almost no tables in the restaurant with patrons. I think maybe a total of four or five tables including us. I don’t recall German music being played, which was always played before. Also, previously they would every hour or so stop and do a 123 in German toast And they have life music. Neither of these things occurred. Not a bad restaurant, but I think the environment could be improved. It didn’t feel fun anymore. Also, I did witness a very unpleasant, Exchange between the manager and our server where she looked very mean and menacing towards our server. Not sure what that was about, but certainly was not appropriate. Finally, the restaurant needs a thorough cleaning, including the carpeting. There was dust on the chandeliers and the room did not look or smell clean. With a little effort, this restaurant could become the shining star. It has always been. I did have the Oktoberfest Amber beer and that was...

I REALLY wanted to like this restaurant and make it my new go to while in the area. Even though the interior is a bit dated, I love the decor and the booths. I was very excited to try what they had and let my 11 year old try German food for the first time (he loves all kinds of food, especially Eastern European).

I am 100% Polish and although it does not make me a German food expert by any means, I do know what good sauerkraut, potatoes, cabbage, potato soup, etc. are supposed to taste like. I also have eaten at excellent German restaurants in Chicago (where I grew up) and Philly/NYC (where I lived as an adult).

There was no flavors to any of the dishes. My son who eats meat only picked at his meal and eating out is a big treat for him normally (and believe me, I knew there would not be much for a vegetarian here and didn’t expect there to be, went here for my son).

He got a German sausage dish and saved almost all the sausage for our dog.

We both ate the mashed potatoes which were very good and seemed homemade. The cabbage and sauerkraut was from a jar and not good, the German noodles had no flavor, and were over cooked (seemed made from frozen).

The potato pancakes had no flavor and had the tiniest portions of applesauce and sour cream. The apple strudel dessert was very good.

The service was good but I did not understand why a fountain drink that had mostly ice was charged for a refill and same goes for a refill on a small cup of coffee.

On the way out, my son wanted a bag of candy and although the writing is in German (it is the company Haribo that you can get at any candy store), the price for a regular bag of gummy bears came out to $9.62.

In the middle of the night, I got worked up by major stomach cramping and got very sick. All I had was the mashed potatoes, a couple bits of cabbage, a potato pancake, and the German noodles. I am still feeling sick today. I threw out all the leftovers we took home and unfortunately, I...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at an exquisite German restaurant, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a charming ambiance that transported me straight to Germany.

The menu offered a tantalizing array of traditional German dishes, each prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail. The flavors were rich and authentic, showcasing the true essence of German cuisine. I couldn't resist indulging in classics like bratwurst, schnitzel, and sauerkraut, and I was not disappointed. The dishes were cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned, and presented beautifully.

What truly set this restaurant apart was the impeccable service. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations, ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was exceptional. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and catered to my needs with a genuine smile.

The attention to detail extended to the restaurant's decor, which created a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The rustic charm, with wooden accents and traditional German artwork, added to the overall experience. It was evident that the owners had put great thought into creating an authentic and immersive dining environment.

To top it all off, the beverage selection was outstanding. The restaurant boasted an impressive collection of German beers and a well-curated wine list, perfectly complementing the flavors of the food. I found myself savoring every sip, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal.

In conclusion, this German restaurant surpassed all my expectations. The delectable cuisine, impeccable service, and charming ambiance combined to create an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're a fan of German cuisine or simply looking to try something new, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. It's a true gem that captures the essence of Germany...

We felt unwelcome from the moment we walked in. While our women wanted to leave immediately the men talked them in to staying. Told 40 minutes or less. Had drinks at the bar while waiting. Smell of a cat box around the bar. Watch people leave and go look to see that many seats are open. Finally give up waiting for a seat and ordering at the bar when hostess/owner says we can now get a table. $130 tab plus tip for 5 beers and 4 whiskey shots, not a typo! Sat at seats I noticed open half an hour before. No waitress. Flagged down one who came back after checking, to say she would take care of us. No water, no bread until asked twice. No drinks. Waited a while before telling the waitress we would give them 4 more minutes and then we were leaving. Soup comes out cool, not nearly the 140 degrees required by health code. Food is then delivered, please pass this plate down the table style, but comes with cold sides. The schnitzels were good, but the spaetzle seemed commercial, tasteless and lifeless in addition to being cold. Replacements were little better. I'll bet they use a microwave. Outrageous food pricing. Final insult was adding 20% to the check for our table of 5. We paid, complained on our way out and were refunded dinner costs. That helps, but we would never return. As you can see the toilets are makeshift. You had better be close friends to go in with someone else because you'll have to have your arms around each other.
