Papi's NY Pizza — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

Great place overall. We wanted NY style pizza, and this place was 10 minutes away, so we went ahead and ordered a XXXL 20" Manhattan style cheese pizza for pickup through Uber Eats for $34. Would have ordered some toppings, which I noticed were very well priced for such a large pie (less than $3 each for a GIANT pie), but we had kids with us who wanted cheese. I think it would have been a better value if we would have at least added sausage + peppers, or at least some pepperoni, but it still was a good value overall.

The pizza was ready in about 20 minutes, just enough time to put my shoes on, head to the car, and drive over. The pie fed us all (2 adults, 3 pre-teens) for a fair price. It had the authentic NY feel, with a tasty thin dough, large floppy slices, and good quality melty cheese.

The guy behind the counter spoke about 2 words to me, not exactly welcoming, but certainly not rude either. Having lived in NY and NJ, I figured he's a native New Yorker based on this haha. Can't fault that service. The location itself is just barely large enough to stand around and wait for your order - no dine-in option at all, so I can't really rate it well for "atmosphere" though it did feel like a real NYC hole-in-the-wall pizza joint.

Only real negative is minor, and something I didn't even notice at the time, but compared to other reviewers' pictures of their pizzas (on google, FB, etc)... our pie didn't really fill the 20" box at all. It didn't reach near the edges of the box and was sliding around inside quite a bit. I see other review pictures where the pizzas really fill out the box... Would have taken a picture of the pizza to post if I had realized. I get that each pizza is handmade and different, but it would be good if the 20" pizza was actually 20 inches. I took off a star for "service" due to this, since the pizza itself is 5 star worthy in my opinion.

Overall, the taste was great and authentic. Price was good for a giant 20" (well, almost 20" in our case) pie. We still fed 5 people for about $7 each, including tax. Will...
