Celebrating my daughter’s 40th birthday, we went to Terrace grill not too far from the main drag of Fort Lauderdale. We parked across the street from the Delmar hotel as this restaurant sits right next to it. They have valet parking but choose to use the pay street option. Our reservation was 6:15 PM. I highly recommend the early times because an hour later, it was full and very busy. We were greeted by a nice charming hostess who directed us to our table, we had zero waiting time and soon after we were welcomed by Ismail, our server. He was friendly, very attentive and made our visit an unforgettable one with top knotch service. He was very helpful with the wine selection and provided tasting samples before our final decision. Moreover, he explained the specials from the chef for the evening and took our food order. Our food was excellent, cooked to perfection and was well presented. The food portions were satisfying and not stuffy. All our dishes were delicious (see our pics) we had no preference over each other. The oysters 🦪 were fresh and tasteful that we had to order twice because of it. We topped our evening with their signature chocolate chip cookie, vanilla and chocolate icecream with all the toppings (caramel syrup , M&M’s and, sprinkles) gave my daughter a big smile. The ambience was nice. I would have preferred a little more light but it complemented with the beautiful decor. Overall excellent service and food. Will visit again. On a side note, if you are in a party mood after your dinner, you can hop on the elevator and visit the Sparrow … a DJ led lounge and bar on the 25th floor...
Read moreLook, this is a tough review to write because the people who work here seem like nice people. But holy cow it was a fairly substantial string of mistakes, worst of any restaurant I dined at in 2024.
To set the stage, and in fairness to the restaurant, we were 6 on NYE, and last minute we became 9. We had two presentations - 3 and 6 - spread out an hour. They were very kind and offered to accommodate.
So what happened?
At first they said “happy to accommodate, give us a minute”… one hour later we’re seated at outside seats that were available the whole time. Understandable in its own right. But the level of incompetency and adequate planning for NYE thereafter made it clear that management here is just absolutely blowing it.
Small things in the grand scheme, but conglomerately they’re incredibly annoying for what was supposed to be a nice NYE dinner.
Food took 2 hours even though we put in orders within 10 min of sitting. Drink orders came back incorrect (as in tried to fake making an espresso tini even though when confronted why it tasted weird vs the first, they said they ran out of espresso…just tell us that don’t bait and switch), medium filet that came back rare, no water at table for first 45 min, and a few other things like this. Again, not a huge deal individually, but the consistency of the mistakes lead me to believe this place is far from operating at a level that deserves any type of business whatsoever.
I hope for the kind waiters and waitresses that the owners wake the f up and actually pay attention to the experience they’re providing, or they really don’t deserve to own...
Read moreThis is truly the hidden gem of Flagler Village and The Dalmar Hotel. Let me explain, I am born and raised here in South Florida, so there are few places that I get excited to try. I actually had reservations for Eddy V's and The Terrace Grill last night, but after reading enough reviews online and looking at the menu, I decided on The Terrace Grill.
Ever become elated as soon as you sit down for dinner, because it's comfortable with a Gatsby style to it and you admire the thought it took. The service was wonder and she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and options. The menu options are great and every single thing we got was exquisite! The filet mignon happens to be my new favorite in town. I order my medium rare and they cooked it to perfection! The best char and slight crust to the outside and cooked perfectly through! Seriously, do your self the favor and try it... I suggest the au jus sauce to complement.
The other little secret is the dessert. Specifically, I would recommend The Chocolate Chip Cookie dessert. This thing is on a whole other level, as you can see by the picture I posted. Seriously, how fun and cool for any age to get that kind of delicious dessert.
If I had one warning to anyone going in spring/summer months, it gets warm because of the terrace doors open and seems like the restaurant had a harder time staying cool. Other than that, this place is extremely underrated and needs to get the credit it...
