This review if for their pop-up (semi-permanent maybe) bakery in Linwood Plaza. I've gone there 5-7 times since the pop up started and have enjoyed majority of all items.
Croissants (Hazelnut & Chocolate) 5/5 Danishes (Blueberry/CC & Strawberry CC) 5/5 All extremely flaky and soft. Delicious. Have repurchased.
Rice Bread (directly across from register) 3.5/5 - It was alright, I would not repurchase
Creme brûlée donut 3.5/5 - Alright, enjoyed the cream and dough. Wouldn't repurchase
Can't recall the other pastries. Enjoyed them!
Winter White Cake 1/5 - This is where I have to remove my stars. I paid close to $50 for probably the worst cake in Fort Lee. I should have known due to the fact none of the cakes showcase the inside filling. The cake is beautiful with cute snowman/tree decoration. Curves of white chocolate ribboned all across the top. But that's where it ends. A layer of white buttercream sat THICKLY and practically crumbly between 2 dense vanilla cake sheets. Covered with the same thick buttercream almost fondant. It was so bad, I thought the cake was frozen (maybe it was) and the white chocolate curls fell right off when cutting. Didn't even stick to the frosting and had to be served on the side of the cake slice. Honestly a huge disappointment. Do NOT buy cakes from them!!! What is crazy is that I initially came 2 days before to place a cake order and the cashier said not to worry, they bake them fresh every day and they will have them available. Definitely not fresh.
As for atmosphere, it's the same practical layout as the previous Bakery that previously existed there. Nothing new. Service is a bit slow as they're figuring out the new system and understanding what everything is priced/called during check out.
Extremely disappointed in cake experience but will return for their French...
Read moreBelle Journée in Fort Lee is an absolute gem! Their iced mocha latte is perfectly balanced rich, smooth, and refreshing. The pastries are outstanding: the blueberry croissant is buttery and flaky with the perfect amount of fruit, and the strawberry croissant is just as amazing, light but indulgent. The pistachio desserts are a must try for anyone who loves that flavor, and the almond bun is heavenly soft, nutty, and packed with flavor.
Everything here tastes fresh and made with care, and the quality really sets them apart. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is warm and welcoming, and every visit feels like a treat. Definitely one of the best spots in Fort Lee for coffee...
Read moreThe staff at this bakery are the absolute best—they greet you with such warmth. Everything's so neatly organized and spotless, from the display cases bursting with fresh goodies to the counters you could eat off of. Plus, the spot's in a prime location with easy parking right out front, which is a total win for a quick stop.Hands down, my go-to is the fig and brie pastry—it's this perfect with sweet and savory that I crave all week. They grind the coffee beans fresh every time, so it's rich and aromatic without any bitterness. One tiny tweak? Crank up the heat a notch on cooler days—it'd make the whole vibe even cozier. Can't wait for...
