Update: I’m taking off one star. The latest time we went, they didn’t give us small dishes before the main dishes were served. They explained because customers get full on small dishes too soon. Well that’s our business. We can always take our food home. And there were very few small appetizers compared to other places.
Update: nice takeout packaging with assortment of appetizers
Food tasted really good. Only the service was lackluster. The young lady at the counter just wasn’t nice. She gave me a weird look when I ordered two combos for 3 of us (one was my 90-year-old grandma). She blocked the narrow passageway to the bathroom without moving so I had to squeeze through. And there was no thank you as she scooped up the tips. A bit strange for a family restaurant.
Also, definitely order the combo of soup and meat. The galbi by itself was a lot pricier with only a few pieces more. (I had the comparison because we also ordered just the meat to go...
Read moreFound this relatively new place (5 months or so new) on a day home from shopping just as we were in a mood for Korean tofu and about to head to our normal popular spot in Fort Lee which has been around for decades with tons of patrons filling up their restaurant and parking lot (so I won’t have to name their name here but you can figure it out). Cho Dang House’s Service was quick, the restaurant was clean, bathroom clean, and the appetizers were bountiful as well as tasty. But no seconds on the appetizers were offered. Our order was seafood tofu soup with LA Galbi combo which we felt the seafood was a bit skimpy and LA galbi a bit sweet. Spicy pork bibimbop was nice overall with good portion of tasty tender pork. Overall it was a good dinner and I would return in the future to try their...
Read moreThis was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The restaurant had flooding inside and instead of addressing it properly, we were told to just sit in the front. We were the only customers, yet had to wait to place our order and even ask for water.
Service was careless throughout. The cold noodles were served with the waiter’s fingers inside the bowl. Our beef tofu soup never came until we asked about it — and when it finally did, it was seafood tofu. That is not just a mix-up, it’s a serious mistake that could endanger someone with a seafood allergy.
The lack of attention, hygiene, and accuracy made this an unacceptable experience. I hope management takes these issues seriously, because mistakes like these can have serious consequences for customers’...
