I came here yesterday and ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE VIBE.
To start, this place is downright gorgeous. š It's so clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing to sit in and look at. You can feel the energy at this place the second you open the door!
My daughter and I were enthusiastically greeted and welcomed to the counter to place the order and were then directed to have a seat while it was prepared.
As I sat, I saw this one lady with Bunny Ears flittering back and forth from the counter to the dining area serving food to other folks while smiling and spewing her charm.
When my food was ready she came over to serve us. She was happy go lucky and smiling when she served our food and really made my daughter and I feel welcomed with her demeanor. Most importantly though, she took time to talk and engage with my daughter who was enamored with her Bunny ear headband! My daughter was giddy throughout the entire meal everytime Michelle came over or would wave at her from a distance.
As I started to eat she proceeded to talk to other guests surrounding me, asking them questions about the food and if everything was alright.
At this point, I was honestly so taken aback and impressed I waved her over. Upon returning, she was cordial and upbeat and asked if everything was okay. I told her everything was great and that I just needed her name.
Her name was Michelle. I'm not sure what her title is but I can tell you this, between the delicious food and this high level of customer service I WILL be here often and will mention to others to do the same.
It is so rare that you find hidden gems like Michelle and the Gyro Project that strike the perfect balance of beautiful decor, fresh and tasty food, and phenomenal customer service!
I loved this place much more than I thought I would.
Come here. Give it a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Gyro Project fills a niche in crowded Fort Lee dining scene with its fast casual dining concept that's similar to CAVA but offers a bit more items that would be from a traditional sit-down Greek restaurant.
ATMOSPHERE (4/5) - While not super fancy, the space is bright, modern, and uncluttered. It's quite inviting and spacious. SERVICE (5/5) - I did a pick up so while I'm not even sure if they have wait service, the girl at the counter was courteous in explaining the menu options and was pleasant to deal with FOOD a. Beef & Lamb Pita (3/5) - My wife got this with hummus as the sauce. The meat was seasoned perfectly and it was tasty overall, but it did not have enough vegetables so was tad bit dry. b. Fried Chicken Pita (5/5) - I ordered this special (the girl said it's their #1 seller) and was not disappointed. Chicken wasn't greasy but flavorful, crispy, and juicy all at the same time and honey mustard provided a nice tang without drowning out the chicken. It also had more fresh vegetables than my wife's, so it ate better, and she kept on taking bite(s)! c. Orange cake (3/5) - They had this dessert as a limited time item on the counter and looked delish so I ordered it. It was like a baklava and was soaked in that honey syrup so ended up being too sweet. My wife declined after one bite, but I managed to finish it the next day with bitter tea - I think that's the way these Greek/Turkish desserts were meant to be eaten anyway, right? So if you like sweet treat, this may be for you.
Overall, I was impressed and glad that TGP came into the already-impressive Fort Lee dining scene and made a mark of its own. Keep up the attention to detail (fresh meat, no wilted veggies, etc.) and this place has potential to become a mainstay. I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFort Lee how lucky are you!! The Gyro Project is an amazing experience from beginning to literally the end! Getting here was easy peasy and it has parking. Entering the restaurant it was immaculate! Beautifully decorated! On the right hand side of the restaurant they have a wall of treats and items for purchase. The delicious desserts are displayed in a window case next to the cashiers. You can see the spits going and the rotisserie chicken cooking. Mouthwatering seeing meats spin š¤¤š¤¤š¤¤ Jocelyn (I hope I spelled it right) was my cashier super nice young lady. I ordered a regular pita with beef and lamb gyro & tzatziki, it automatically comes with tomato onion and fries unless you change it. As my side I had spring roll Spanikopita served with a spicy feta. And kudos to them they had my favorite seltzer Hals which is local to NY. Additionally I got a chicken gyro platter(š· noooo I didn't eat all of it or maybe I did š joking my husband went with me) The platter was served with choice of sauce and it came with fries, Mediterranean salad, and pita. We chose tzatziki and asked for hot sauce on the side. For dessert I ordered a Baklava Bite. The food arrived and it smelled and looked amazing. Now why order the basics because if the basics are on point you know the rest of the menu items are rocking!! That's how I do my judging of restaurants. Everything tasted perfectly seasoned & fresh. At the end of the meal I complimented how delicious everything was and decided to take a picture of the 2 beautiful young ladies manning the front with smiles and welcoming vibes! Jocelyn and Iyuri (I hope I spelled it right) thank you for a great experience!! The gyro project you rock loved it!!!! Thank you! I truly recommend this spot!!! Enjoy...
