During my recent visit to the License to Chill Bar & Grill, I was pleasantly surprised by the laid-back atmosphere and exceptional service. Nestled in a prime location with stunning ocean views, the bar & grill offers a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement.

The moment I arrived, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who made me feel instantly welcome. The decor is vibrant and inviting, with a tropical theme that sets the tone for a fun and leisurely experience. The outdoor seating area, in particular, is a highlight, allowing guests to enjoy the refreshing sea breeze and beautiful sunset views.

The menu is diverse and caters to a variety of tastes. I started with the Key West Chicken Quesadilla, which was packed with flavor and generously portioned. For my main course, I opted for the Grilled Mahi Mahi Tacos, which were fresh and perfectly cooked. The combination of flavors was delightful, and the presentation was top-notch.

What truly stood out was the service. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. The cocktails are a must-try, especially the signature Margaritas, which are expertly crafted and incredibly refreshing.

This was a rough experience, hoping someone from corporate sees this as the local “manager” had her own issues. Came with a group of 8, restaurant was about 1/3 full, so pretty empty. Food took over an HOUR! Our waiter, Charles apologized and I truly think this was not his fault, so he sent his manager, Mona, and I absolutely hope this woman receives training both in restaurant managing as well as customer service because wow was she awful. We had been waiting nearly an hour at this point and our table is frustrated, don’t you think the manager would come over to deescalate? Not Mona :). When we asked what was taking so long - she said they were busy (??). I said look around? No you aren’t? Don’t gaslight us… I said we had been waiting around 55 minutes and she claimed half the food had been made but not the other half, and she’d go check. Didn’t really apologize. This was the best part - she came back to tell us ACTUALLY we had ordered 47 minutes ago. Not 55. What!? That’s what you came to say! An 8 minute difference you thought was worth bringing up… and she STILL DIDN’T have our food!! Yikes. The food finally came and it was average but the whole situation was bizarre and terrible. Margaritaville is a fun place other than that and I’m happy to see the beach built back up. For now, I’d say avoid this restaurant (there are others at the resort) until Mona is removed...

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Since we’ve been staying at this resort, this is by far the worst restaurant we’ve had.

We came for breakfast and were not initially seated, I approached someone working and asked if we seat ourselves since no one had helped us. She then stated she would be back to help us.

When she sat us, it took awhile for us to be helped. A person from the bar finally came to us and asked if we had been helped yet, we told her we had not and shethen proceeded to assist us. She was friendly and got our orders in promptly.

We ordered at 10:30……about 20 min passed and our waitress let us know food would be out soon….we waited another 25 min…by this time it was 11:12….almost 1 hr from when we ordered. The waitress then saw that we had not been served yet and said she would go check on our food. By this point I decided that if the food wasn’t coming out, I’d like for it to be canceled. I let her know and she went to check on it. She then came back to us to let us know the kitchen “missed our ticket and it would be about 15-20min more”. We did NOT wait. We also overheard the waitress say this happened last week to her.

Safe to say we will not be back and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone else. Unsure how good the food is but per other reviews, most likely average, and most definitely not...
