Staying with family for the holidays and got hungry after romping around on the beach for awhile. This place sits in a fantastic location on the corner of the boardwalk that leads to the beach. Perfect spot for some people watching. Unfortunately, that’s where the pros for this place end.
We started off sitting inside but quickly regretted it. There was a musty, salty smell that stagnated the air and we quickly were driven outside. The first table we chose along the side of the restaurant was insanely dirty (I ran my hand along the top of the table and it was covered in black soot). This place had just opened for business and there was hardly anybody there, no excuse. Second table had sand all over it, but we just assumed par for the course and cut our losses.
We paid $3.50 per slice for moderately sized slices of pizza. The cheese and sauce tasted frozen like we had possibly gotten yesterdays leftovers warmed up. The crust was also really tasteless, making me question the Italian theme when this is clearly a complete insult to it’s heritage. We also ordered a side of onion rings for $8 dollars. You get a very small portion for the price. They were just decent in my opinion, but the dipping sauce was alright.
Service was fine, nothing to say about it.
TLDR: Avoid this place like the plague. Looking at other reviews, clearly other items on the menu such as the pasta is a clear scam for the price. There’s too many other great pizza places to waste your money here at this...
Read moreIt's a small place out on Estero Island, a little cramped with the indoor seating, but otherwise fine. The pizza was your typical fare, nicely baked, great crust. We had the mozzarella sticks and cheesy garlic bread, which were so delicious for our appetizers. My husband and I shared a salad with goat cheese, which was simple and yummy. Service was a little slow from the kitchen, and the wait staff were very busy, they'd stop by as much as they could with the customer load they each had. They need more servers to accommodate better, the kitchen staff were hollering at the girls to come and get pizzas from the expo line but when you only have 2 waitresses handling the dinner rush running from between the outdoor seating and inside seating they tend to not be able to get to it as fast as they could. Maybe adding an expo person to run food for the staff might alleviate that problem for the waitresses who were doing their best to get to each order in a somewhat timely manner. I will say the pizza did take longer than we expected. Usually, pizza comes out maybe 20 minutes tops, but this took about 30-40 minutes. We were fine, though, from having the apps. The waitress was super sweet and very apologetic on the timing of things and thanked us for our patience, I believe she said her name was Jay. It's your typical little family pizza stop, and I would recommend it for that. It also has an ice cream shop inside so if you're looking for a spot for ice cream, seems to look...
Read moreWhile I can't vouch for the food itself, I can tell you the customer service is absolutely horrible! We walked inside to a "seat to yourself" atmosphere. No problem, we found the only open table, went over to it only to find it needed to be bussed and cleaned. We stood there as no less than 5 employees of the establishment walked right by us. One circled back, pushed in a chair at the table we were standing next to and kept on going. We still stood there, waiting to sit down or catch someones attention. No one wanted to make eye contact, I finally said "excuse me" to one of the servers walking by, she hesitated enough to hear me ask to get the table bussed and cleaned, I believe she mumbled, yes and then kept going. We waited, standing there another 7 minutes only to watch several servers/employees do anything and everything BUT tend to the table we asked to be cleaned. We decided to leave and actually passed the server that said "yes" to having the table cleaned. She looked straight at me, never once apologized or say she'd get to it or is having someone else do it. Unfortunately, this is the very first establishment we visited upon our arrival to FMB. What a fine welcome!! With a welcome like that we won't even...
