Sun Deck at the Lani Kai — Restaurant in Fort Myers Beach

I have been going to this rooftop faithfully for over 9 years! BUT TODAY made me never want to return! My friend and I sat at an oceanview rocker for over 20 min before even being greeted! We had to ask a food runner to find someone to serve us. 5 min later when Liza ( which i only know from her name tag because she failed to introduce herself) shows up she has a condescending attitude when we told her we had been there over 15 mins awaiting a server! She proceeded to rush through taking out order ( which she got wrong from lack of engagement with our table) our food arrived shortly after . I received a salad with 75% trash lettuce, cold wings, and dried crab cakes that looked like they were cookee 12 hrs ago. Liza let another over 15 mins go by without checking if our food was ok or we needed anything. If she did we could have rectified the issue moments earlier and completely enjoyed the rest of our sunset dinner. Upon requesting a manager i had to go seek him out myself. I found him and Liza engaged in a conversation obviously about my table in which she was very defensive and swinging her neck left to right. My conversation with management was also very condescending. He immediately just took our drinks off our tab instead of trying to fix the bad quality food that arrived to the table or his server with the bad attitude! He nodded his head and yeah yeah yeah'd me to death. We became so frustrated we didnt even complete our dinner plans. Dont expect any class at this place. You might even be made to feel like you are not...

Very bad experience Some kind of scam with happy hour Make sure you know what time happy hour We came at 4 pm thinking it's a happy hour When we sat down outside at the desk the woman bartender came to our table. When we asked about happy hour she told us it ended at 4 pm. After 5 min another waitress came and she was surprised we were already helped. After we had our food the bill came $106 We left 20% tips but then when we went to the restrooms we saw the ad that happy hour is 4 to 6 pm When we asked about it they called a manager He was kind of rude right away saying what do you want free food When we said no he said OK, he went somewhere then he came back and told us nothing on your menu was from happy hour menu Of course not they never gave us the happy hour menu Then he said here is your money we gave you 25 % , he was acting rude like we were trying to get free food When we asked why the waitress told us the happy hour ended at 4 He rudely said she's been working here for ten years implying that we were lying Very bad experience They only gave us back 12 dollars That'all! The Sun Deck is an eclectic, older, dated, very casual restaurant on the top floor of the hotel. You can choose to eat outdoors on the covered glider picnic table "pods" or inside at one of the few tables available around the bar. If there is live music, the inside tables will be overwhelmed with the music, as the speakers are directed right at them. It's very difficult to talk at the table. The servers were busy on this Monday night at 7:45 pm. We were served our drinks within 5 minutes of sitting down. Our order was taken within 10 minutes. The prime rib was pretty good. It was tender and juicy and was the temperature that we both requested; medium and medium rare. The garlic mashed potatoes and steamed veggies were also good. Overall, it was a good meal. The dress ranged from girls in swimsuits and no coverup to nice sundresses and men in khakis and button ups. The service was really good and pretty fast for how busy they were. Even the bussers were pleasant and polite. Worth going for a $20 12oz...
