I went to the 86 room with my boyfriend and 2 friends. Since my one friend and I were both driving, we told the bartender that we would like waters. My boyfriend and other friend wanted 1 beverage each. Since we were sitting at the bar, she asked for all 4 of our ID's. The bartender proceeded to inspect all 4 of our ID's individually and then hand them back to us. When she looked at my one friend's ID, she said, "yeah, not even close." We were confused and then she told the 4 of us that she could not serve me nor my friend's ID because our ID's were fake. Again, I only ordered a water but I was very confused considering in just over 2 months, I will be 28. My boyfriend and other friend behind us were just as confused. She then changed what she said and told us she couldn't serve any of us and could only get us waters. Flustered and flabbergasted, I tried politely asking her to explain to me why she believed my ID was fake. I have been in the restuarant industry for 13 years and have taken numerous trainings on how to spot fakes over the years so I was genuinely confused as to why she thought my very real ID was in fact fake. She started saying something about our signatures were wrong and became very agitated and couldn't adequately explain to me. When I told her I was in the industry, she retorted, "then you must know why this ID is fake and what I'm talking about." My boyfriend and other friend (who also ordered the water) were attempting to show her second forms of IDs (at that point just out of principle) but she refused to acknowledge them. Instead, she told us that we were pissing her off and that we needed to leave. When asked to speak to a manager she told me she was and refused to discuss further....
Read moreI’ve gone to this bar so many times and it was one of my favorites. But it seems in the past 6 months the service has gone down terribly.
First, they always seem to be short staffed one bartender and maybe a barback. Even if this person is not trained to make drinks this is where customer service should kick in and atleast take orders or talk to the customers let them feel seen. The one bartender there was taking long time to make drinks and was ignoring us. To the point we watched about 8 people walk out because they were tired of waiting so we also left.
And then my second experience was very disheartening for me. I went with new friends that had never been. We sat at the bar where we saw this Bartender having a little less of a line. While sitting at the bar right in front of the lady because she sees us, she doesn’t even say “I’ll be right with you” or anything. Mind you this bartender is never friendly just her facial expressions and demeanor comes off very wrong, not friendly at all. When we finally ordered, some of us didn’t want drinks but she was rudely asking for IDs as we asked why she again rudely just kept saying “because I need to see it” or “I still need to see it”. And right when we went to correct her or say anything back she dismissed us and stated she was not serving us. And it just felt from beginning to end like a racism issue which really sucks because I used to love this place and it’s not the...
Read moreTruly was excited to come here and I can’t tell you how bummed I was when I arrived. Before i get into it, please know I would not recommend this place as a quality beverage cocktail bar. In terms of ambiance I would give this place 5 stars, in terms of drinks…unfortunately I can’t go over a 2. Looking at their wall of liquor options is all you need to know about quality here but I drove 45 minutes to come so figured would try it anyway. I don’t think I saw a single bottle of alcohol that has a retail price over $25. As a cocktail bar it’s expected that you have quality alcohol to fit the pricing and craft of your drinks. Knob Creek, Bombay, Woodford, doesn’t have to be anything crazy but does need to be decent quality. I decided to order there smoked old-fashion. Menu says made with bullet bourbon…I watched her make mine and another customers with 4 roses…4 roses people…$20 bottle of booze. We had our one drink and headed over to 10 twenty-five across the road. Better quality drinks for the same price if not cheaper. Do better 86 room, you have so much potential but you really miss the mark with your...
