SHAMEFUL response from the owner when trying to resolve a situation which I approached in a mature, respectful way despite the management staff at the downtown location: "Hi Jeannine, After collecting all of the information from what transpired last night I do not see a need for us to have a conversation. Your money was refunded. After the way you treated my staff I would like you to not return. I wish you the best. -Amber Zollinger, owner" I used a gift card to pay for my meal and it was applied as comp'd meals which did NOT add up to $50. Not to mention they charged us for food we did not order. They never let us see the original bill - they took our form of payment out of our hands and when they returned there was no itemized bill. When I requested an original, itemized bill - it was like talking to a wall. The manager was like a deer in the headlights. They kept giving me the bill that had all the comp'd or what they called "discounted" meals on it and it didn't add up. I wanted the original bill so I could tip accordingly (and verify that the food we did not order was not on our bill) but again, it was like talking to a wall. I am 52 and I have never been talked down to or demoralized by some 20 year old in my life. I was also accused of yelling even though there was live music AND we were standing by speaker. The insensitive 'manager' didn't seem to care that my hearing is not good and explained that I was not yelling. My daughter, whom was one of my guests, had to overhear the manager - from the bathroom mind you - complain on how they had to "discount all this food and they are basically getting a free meal". Since when is a gift card considered a 'free' meal? That was someone's hard earned cash that purchased it and it should have been treated as such. So not only did they ruin it for the recipient, but they ruined it for the person who purchased the gift card. The owner is not any better because when I respectfully reached out to them to call me - she only listened to her 'manager' and told me to never come back! Very young, unprofessional and ignorant staff there at the downtown location. The owner doesn't need to disinvite me - I choose to never go back and after 4 years of loyalty! Sad because the husband owner is nice and...
Read moreI was looking for someplace to eat on First Street but there are so many places that I couldn't make up my mind. The ladies at the Naples Soap Company told me this was their favorite place and they even gave me a menu. With such a ringing endorsement off I went.
The gastro pub and craft beer bar, 10 Twenty Five, is located in 33 Patio de Leon in downtown Fort Myers. It is in an alley that opens onto a courtyard off of First Street. When I walked up Mad Dan was doing his straightjacket unicycle trick in front of the restaurant. It was art walk Friday night in Fort Myers which is a really fun time to check out the downtown.
The first 10 Twenty Five location was opened in 2016 by Chad and Amber Zollinger in Cape Coral. They expanded to this second location in 2019 in the building that formerly housed Bella Vita Grill, Prime de Leon Steakhouse and Morgan House. When they were kids they used to hang out here so they new the location well. When opening this restaurant they partnered with Nice Guys' bartender Jimmy Salemi to create the $10 craft cocktail menu. They plan on taking the cocktail menu back to Cape Coral.
10 Twenty Five is two stories and a really nice feature of this 210 seat restaurant is the 1,200-square-foot upstairs patio. The only other rooftop dining in downtown is at Firestone's Skybar. I counted no less than three bars as I made my way to my seat at the indoor second floor bar. After seeking the bartenders recommendation I started off the Gran-Mammy's Jam, a sweet and fruity cocktail made with coconut rum, raspberry liqeuer. lemon, and agave. It was so refreshing and delicious. The menu has an array of appetizers, sandwiches, soups, and salads. For my meal I ordered the smoked brisket flatbread, made with house smoked brisket, root beer BBQ, smoked cheddar, crispy onions, pickles, and house wiz. This was perfection but you can also build your own flatbread. Best of all it was delivered to me within minutes, it was lightening fast.
There are so many places to eat on First Avenue but the locals know to go down the alley to seek out 10 Twenty Five. When I walked in everyone looked like they were having a great time and with two floors there is plenty of seating for everyone. I loved my visit and highly recommend them based on...
Read moreThere is one is Cape Coral closer to our home, but we wanted something with a nice view, sitting outside. We went to the downtown location. It is in a small, brick square with restaurants and outdoor seating everywhere.
The waitress was nice, but was not very visible after we got our food. Not sure if she had tables inside as well, but service was a bit slow. This is ok though as we were enjoying the weather and ambiance.
We had my 2.5 yo daughter with us and she enjoyed walking around. There were other Littles as well hanging with their parents.
I was with my sister and husband. We ordered drinks. My husband had the Darkside (coffee flavored), my sister had one that tasted like a Pina colada, and I had a pear flavored drink. (They had fun names but I can't remember them). They were good.
We ordered apps: poutine ravioli type things with gravy and the pretzel sticks with beer cheese. The gravy on the poutine was outstanding and I could have just eaten a bowl of that. Yummy!
I ordered the shrimp po'boy (they had fun names for these too), my sister had a Flatbread pizza, and my husband had a chicken and spinach sandwich.
My only complaint is every time I picked up my sandwich, it fell apart. So I ate the parts separately. The blackened shrimp, the fried green tomatoes, the lettuce and chimichurri sauce was excellent. I did not eat the hoagie bun as it didn't seem to be toasted, buttered or anything. I feel like perhaps they could have taken a little bread out so the food could've stayed in sandwich better.
I had sweet potato fries and my husband steak fries. Both were just ok.
Again, downtown Fort Myers is difficult for parking but we park at the structure by Ford's garage. $4.
For 3 adults, 1 child, 2 apps, 5 specialty drinks it was about $$150 plus tip.
This place was good for people watching, ambiance, apps, drinks, and food was good but could've been great. I would...
