First I'd like to say the food here is great. I order lunch here all the time and have never been disappointed with the food. Today, however, I was charged $22.35 for two shrimp tacos with 3 shrimp in each taco and a substitute side salad! I understand that prices have gone up since Covid, but about a year ago I paid $11.99 for this same meal and when I checked the online menu before ordering it over the phone it said it was $14.99, an understandable increase. The house salad I substituted showed it was a $1 upcharge. So all together my meal should've cost $15.99 w/o tax. At the time I was charged this amount, when I picked up my food, I knew it was high, but was starving and figured I'd call them back later to get the issue resolved. The women I spoke to was very nice and explained that these were the upcharges due to them no longer having shrimp tacos on the menu (which are still available on their online menu) and that I was charged for fish tacos with a shrimp substitute which cost me a $3 upcharge and that the house salad was now a $3 upcharge. I would be fine with all this had the amounts been specified when I placed the order (had I known that my two shrimp tacos and a side salad would cost me $20.99 before tax, I wouldn't of ordered them). For reference their 8oz filet with two sides is $24.99! So $4 more than what I paid for two tacos and one side!! So I would say my biggest complaint here is let people know how much something is going to cost upfront! I came there expecting to pay the price that I would've paid had I purchased it through your online ordering (prices shouldn't be different because I ordered it over the phone).

Wow! I can’t believe I am writing this. I really don’t like to write bad reviews but this was BAD. A month ago I went with a group of friends to The Standard for Drag BINGO and had a great time. Alyssa (the drag Queen) is amazing and very entertaining. BUT the food was awful!!!! All of us had terrible meals. Two of them were sent back to the kitchen they were SO bad. So tonight we decided to go to Fords Garage for dinner (which was awesome) and then go to The Standard for Bingo. We got there and found out they didn’t save our reservation so we ended up sitting outside and could barely hear Alyssa. She was very gracious though and came out to check on us several times. We all ordered drinks and Bingo cards. After we started playing we were told Bingo costs $25 per person. When we were there a month ago it was $15 per person! We called the owner over to the table and he told us it was because we didn’t order food. This was NOT specified anywhere AND the food was SO bad last time there was no way we were wasting money again. THEN when it was time to pay we overheard the table next to us, that didn’t order food, being charged only $15 per person for Bingo! We called the owner over again. This time it turned into an argument and he told us he was “fine if we never came back again.” It’s really too bad the owner is such a terrible businessman and the food is so horrible because it’s a great concept in a good location. Highly DON’T recommend!

I came into this restaurant with high hopes but left completely disappointed. The food is genuinely not that great, definitely not worth the price nor the $11 for a 2 hour parking spot. The cocktails and mimosa were absolutely disgusting. It tasted like it came store bought and put into a glass and not mixed at the bar. I ordered the Avocado toast and it barely had any avocados. The avocado was spread on very thin onto the bread. The same way you would spread butter on toast. Not to mention the avocado isn’t fresh. It’s the kind that comes in a tube or container. The French toast wasn’t bad but there was nothing special about it either. Everything was okay just not great. There was no WOW factor about the food in no way shape or form. I won’t be eating here again. RESPONSE TO THE BELOW COMMENT FROM THe OWNER So many other things were mentioned in this review but you only read what I had to say about the parking. Not everybody wants to parallel park on the street because it’s “free” and it doesn’t mean said free parking is always available. So that’s that. No comments in regards to the drinks being absolutely disgusting? and the AVOCADO toast barely having any avocado? Literally was spread on the bread like butter. I’ll post a picture for everybody to see what I mean. The food is nothing special and not worth the price you guys charge. And that’s that.

We called before arriving at The Standard to see if they could seat 3 people for dinner. They said yes so we drove over. Got there just after 7pm. When we got there we were seated immediately and our drink order was taken. A few minutes later our meal order was taken. We then proceeded to sit and wait over 30 minutes for our drink order. The waitress kept coming by our table and telling us it would be just a minute more. Finally, after 30 minutes two of us received the margaritas we had ordered. Our 3rd guest had ordered a simple Scotch neat- literally the easiest drink in the world to pour- and we waited and waited. Finally I got up and went to the bar to ask where the Scotch was. It was sitting at the bar. When I told the bartender that we had been waiting over 30 minutes for the Scotch her comment was “well I poured it- thats your servers issue”. I was stunned. I picked up the drink and told her “well then you need to talk to your server.” When I got to the table our food was coming out before we had even had a chance to enjoy our drinks. A minute later the bartender showed up at our table and very nastily told me she was comping our drinks and meal and that I was rude because I had inadvertently picked up the ticket under the drink. Wow! Really?! We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks to be served and I had to go up and get the 3rd one from the bar and I’m rude?! Her excuse for the poor service was that they were short handed and only had two servers. Then why tell us when we called beforehand that you could seat 3 people immediately? Seems to me if you only have 2 servers working you would stop seating people when you reached your capacity to serve them properly. Bottomline horrible rude nasty aggressive service and a lousy meal. The bartender has no business behind a bar serving customers. We won’t be back. Do yourself a favor and scroll down through the rest of the reviews. This isn’t an...

I don't usually do negative reviews but maybe it will help management to improve things. Our kids gave us a gift certificate for Christmas and we were looking forward to a nice Sunday brunch. Basically, I was underwhelmed. To start with, they advertise "Bottomless Bloody Mary's and Mimosas for only $20". Well a single one is $10, so unless you intend to hang out all day and drink yourself silly having more than 2 drinks, I fail to see the advantage other than getting most customers to spend $20 each on drinks. We were seated promptly but it took a long time for our waiter to appear and then very long time for him to get our drinks and coffee even thought they were not very busy. Never told us anything about the specials. I ordered a mimosa and a cup of coffee. Had to ask twice for the coffee. He never came back to refill the coffee, I had to ask another waiter for a refill. CARDINAL RULE for breakfast or brunch. Serve the damn coffee right away, then keep the refills coming. I ordered the Radio City Skillet. I asked the waiter what it came with and he said just toast, so I ordered a side of "home fries". He failed to tell me that the skillet came packed with "home fries" under my eggs. HMMM..., so I sent the "home fries" back. The home fires were not "fresh made" either. They were basically reheated frozen potato puffs, I could have purchased in the frozen food section at Publix. Terrible for a downtown restaurant that supposedly specializes in weekend brunch. Honestly, the Skillet Breakfast at First Watch is much better for less $$. My wife had the Cali omelet with fruit and she (being much easier to please than me) liked it. Anyway, if you intend to spend $100 (including tip) for a Sunday Brunch, you can do better going...

There are a lot of 'okay' brunch places in the SWFL area, but this place is definitely one of the best I've frequented. I'd seen a lot of reviews pop up for The Standard on Yelp and decided that it would be the perfect place to take my mom for Mother's Day -- Please note that the endless mimosas definitely played a big factor. I love me some bubbles.

The Standard is actually quite small, but it packs in a lot of charm. All of the staff were attentive and happy to help us. For food, my mother ordered the Southwest Omelette, my father ordered the Lox of Love sandwich, and I ordered the Warm Crab Dip. It took a while to get our food, but it was EXTREMELY busy that morning for Mother's Day. Thankfully, the mimosas were never-ending and overflowing!

Once we received our food, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that everything was delicious! (And no, that wasn't the mimosas talking...) The portions were large, and the home fries were perfectly crispy. Thankfully my mother is okay with sharing...because my father didn't share any of his with me. It's been a long time since I've ordered crab dip at a restaurant because typically it lacks enough crab for my taste. The Standard certainly didn't hold back on the amount of crab they put in the dip--it was awesome! I only wish I had more bread...I did end up taking the rest back home with me.

I would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat! I'm anxious to go back and try their Lunch and Dinner menus.

If you are making reservations, make sure you denote whether you want an inside or outside table!!! The person who took my reservation never asked me that, and we almost had to sit at an...
